He’s reading a reply chain between Maddie's brother Buck and some guy named Ravi when he accidently likes one of the posts– it's from six months ago. He immediately considers moving to another country.
There’s no way to justify the sound that comes out of him when the notification pops up.

Eddie never goes to parties. He doesn’t like parties (‘It’s a game night, Eddie. We’re not college kids’, Maddie had said with an exaggerated eye roll). They’re loud, they’re messy, they’re sticky, and there’s too many people he doesn’t know. And Buck might be there. Eddie can't meet him after this. It's too embarassing.
What’s even happening tonight? Maddie saying it’s a ‘game night'. What games?! Board games? Video games? Trivia? Charades? One thing’s for sure: he’s been banned from playing Catan since the Grain vs Wheat discourse of 2012 with his sisters. Shannon had actually laughed so much at them she’d needed to step out of the house.
If Eddie really didn’t want to go out before, now it’s ten times worse.

But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.

Buck knows it, and he couldn't be more excited.
He watches Eddie freeze mid-motion as if someone has hit pause on his actions, his shoulders tense up, his back straight and rigid. He gradually comes back into himself and sets the hanger down in the closet like it’s made of glass, and turns around slowly.
The look he gives Buck is a fusion of wide eyed confusion and mania.
But most of all… he looks pissed.
Good, everything is going to plan.
Or; Buck is a little shit and Eddie is just trying to do laundry.

Summary
After the fight in the grocery store, Buck feels like he's causing too much damage so he drops the lawsuit and leaves LA, joining a hotshot wildland firefighter crew out of Montana. He's gone for six months until he gets a call from Chris that something is wrong with Eddie, causing him to race back home only to find a very confused Eddie instead of a hurt or depressed Eddie. Eddie talks him into coming inside for a beer and after that Buck can't bring himself to leave the Diaz boys behind again. But that doesn't mean he's ready to talk to anyone else yet. So they just don't tell anyone else Buck is back. For over two years. Even when they start dating.
Three years after he left LA and the 118, there's a pileup on the 210 in La Tuna Canyon Park and a wildfire racing towards all the crews scrambling desperately to get everyone out in time, including the 118. Buck's crew is in the right place at the right time, and they don't hesitate to come help.

Summary
Hollywood Boulevard is always busy, but on a warm Saturday night like this, it’s as packed as Eddie’s ever seen it. Tourists fill the Walk of Fame looking for their favorite celebrity’s star, bars and nightclubs have lines stretching down the block as loud music pours out onto the sidewalk, and the hookers gather on the street corners posing for potential John’s.
It’s the latter that Eddie’s focus is on as he heads back down the boulevard for the third time, keeping his speed low as he scans each one. Women in outfits that can barely be called clothing waggle their fingers at him as he crawls by, their breasts barely contained behind the scraps of fabric, but he passes them by. They’re not what he wants.
It’s one of those rare child-free evenings where Eddie can indulge his wildest fantasies and he’s after something particular tonight.
