Astarion is Desperate to escape Cazador. He's willing to anything. Even follow legends and myths to find the cursed Shadow Druid statue and free him. Well.. It sounded easy, but part of that meant... Finishing what the druid and his lover had started centuries ago.
Dear Gods, please don't let anyone come across him ah... *riding* the statue.
(Based on a dark romance fb ad I saw a long time ago about needing to break a petrification curse by having sex with the 'statue' and it stuck in my brain and refused to leave until this happened...)

“Astarion…” Halsin murmurs, low and careful.
“Oh, but I do love the way my name sounds on your lips, darling,” Astarion says. “I wonder how it will sound when you’re moaning it.”
“Little star,” he starts carefully. “My affection for you runs as deep and strong as a river,” Halsin assures him. “But I will not take you to my bed to indulge in your body.”
Astarion pulls back as if burnt. “I don’t understand you, druid,” he hisses. “Your reputation for sowing wild oats vastly proceeds you, and you claim to have some desires for me, and yet, you turn down an opportunity to do with me what you wish. You have no idea what you’re saying no to, Halsin. The things I’ve been trained to do would blow your mind.”
(or: now that they're in Baldur's Gate, Halsin just wants to protect Astarion from the people there who want to hurt him. Astarion just wants revenge. And to keep Halsin at arm's length for as long as he can.)

The pale elf stood stock-still. His eyes betrayed no alarm.
“Astarion,” Halsin huffed. “My apologies. I thought myself alone, and must not have been aware of my surroundings. I hope I didn’t startle you.”
Astarion smirked, his frame breaking into the languid, theatrical stance Halsin found familiar. “My dear druid, I live for surprises. And you,” he purred, his eyes sweeping over Halsin’s expansive torso, “are a pleasant surprise indeed.”
Halsin felt his face grow hot. He disregarded the reaction. Astarion wore his flirtation like a cloak; to be donned when useful, and otherwise set aside. He chuckled, “Well, then, I bid you goodnight. If we’re to tackle the Gauntlet of Shar tomorrow, we’ll sorely need our rest. Walk safely.” He sidestepped the smaller elf and made to continue his walk back to camp.

Halsin nuzzles into his cheek, his lips grazing the soft skin, slowly, he plants a trail of kisses from Astarion's jaw down his neck, where his lips stop when he finds the two puncture marks on Astarion's neck. A hot tongue swiping over the sensitive skin made the vampire shudder, the sharp bite that followed choked a moan out if him. Tangling his fingers instinctually into Halsin's hair as he feels the druid continue to lap, and suck, and bite until the skin is deliciously raw. Each movement sending a wave of delectable pleasure through him. When Halsin finally pulls away, the spot is throbbing. A pleased hum escapes the druid's lips and he admires his work. Astarion looks at him through half lidded eyes, tilting his head coyly. Inviting Halsin to further ravish his neck. The druid lets a pleased hum escape his lips seeing Astarion allowing him further access to his neck. Halsin's lips are back on him, Astarion revels in each playful nip and every claiming bite that follows. Each bite leaving a blossoming ring of teeth marks against his pale flesh.

Halsin lays his hands on the man's wounds, his eyes glowing a yellow-white as he channels nature's power into the wound, willing the tissue to grow at a rapid pace and seal shut. Normally this process would take more time, and wouldn't hurt at all, merely aiding and speeding natural healing. But, with daybreak rapidly approaching, there is no time for slow and gentle.The man cries out in pain as the wound seals shut - he suspects it will leave an unsightly scar, but he will survive it. Halsin looks down at the pale vampire; eyes squeezed shut, the pain clear on his face. "I can carry you," he begins to say.

“Your master must be fond of sending others to do his dirty work,” Halsin said.
Astarion’s eyes flicked up to meet his gaze. He was shrewd; he knew then that Halsin understood the situation. Halsin belatedly realized that the vampire spawn’s flushed face could be from hunger. Halsin’s chest dripped with freshly spilt blood.
“You have no idea,” Astarion said in a tight voice. “How much of his dirty work I have done.”
Halsin spread his hands in a gesture of surrender, of passivity. “I know it wasn’t your choice.”
“I did what I had to do to survive.”
Halsin recognized the words; he had said them before himself.Astarion adapts to his new life in the sun, seemingly free of Cazador, but with no shortage of enemies who would see him captive again. Halsin, burdened with responsibility for so many that he often forgets himself, encounters some of the same enemies in his quest to restore the balance of nature.
After rescuing each other in a goblin camp, the pair finds they may have more in common than shared enemies...

Astarion is so used to being used by everyone around him he can't figure out this new member of their merry band of weirdos wants. The druid is helpful, almost too helpful, but doesn't seem to just want to sleep with him. He isn't used to having someone stir up real feelings in him and he can't decide if he likes it.
All he is sure of is that he has become addicted to the taste of the man's blood, and is becoming addicted to the man himself.

“Good night Astarion.” The man rumbled. “May your trance be peaceful.”
Astarion blinked, then blinked again. That was impossible. No one turned him down, well except Tav but Tav was special. He could smell the alpha’s arousal. The man wanted him. But was already reaching for the tent flap to eject Astarion like a drunken mistake.
He blamed what he did next on his post feeding drunkenness and his desperate need to find familiar ground with the man.
He darted forward and kissed the man. Halsin froze, his hand halfway to the tent flap. Astarion had managed to surprise him, he had reasserted dominance.
He pulled away.
“Goodnight, lover.” He drawled.
The flush on Halsin’s cheeks made the whole strange encounter worth it.
