It was supposed to be a simple undercover mission. Interview passengers, gather information before the pirates knew they were after them, maybe drink a piña colada or two and get a nice tan. But fighting for their lives on a desert island, with Dick bleeding to death and no way to get home, Jason wonders at what point everything got fucked up.

Dick, Jason, and Damian go undercover as themselves to catch a gang of pirates, but they end up hitting rock bottom, quite literally.

Summary
It shouldn't matter that Richard took care of him in a time of need. It shouldn't matter that he gave Damian whispered words of reassurance. Or that Richard came after Damian when he needed the man the most.
It shouldn't matter but it does, because now Damian can't stop thinking about having all of it again.
The logical conclusion is to stay as far away from the man as possible.
Besides what if Richard decided he wasn't fit to be Robin? No Damian can't let that happen. He will prove his Classification means nothing.
(If only he didn't melt at Richard's gentle touch. Then it would be a whole lot easier.)

OR Dick and Damian have to navigate the new knowledge that Damian has presented as a Little. Of course, Damian isn't planning on making that an easy task- how can a weapon be a Little? - and Dick has to balance it all on top of being Gothams new knight, wearing a mask he never wanted to.

Summary
Talons are made to last. They aren’t alive, after all, which significantly reduces the chance of death by illness or injury and completely nullifies any age-related death. Even cold, a Talon’s greatest weakness, only causes them to hibernate. They may look and feel dead, but they’re plenty capable of reanimating once they thaw out. Truthfully, a Talon goes out one of two ways:
1. Complete and total destruction of the Talon’s body in the heat of battle
Or
2. Being neutralized by the Court when they determine the Talon is no longer worthy of the title
That’s how a Talon is supposed to die.
But that's not how this Talon dies. This Talon dies to become something else. Something more.
And for conspiring against nature, this Talon pays the price.
