    Aizawa glances from All Might to Midoriya quickly. It sounds impossible—he’s never heard of a quirk that can be handed down like a family heirloom—but at the same time, it makes perfect sense. Midoriya’s inability to use his quirk at the start of the year. The strange, familial relationship between All Might and Midoriya. The slow malnourishment of All Might’s body, like his power was being siphoned away.

    “You’re …” Aizawa begins.

    “I’m All Might’s successor.” Midoriya’s proud but shaky voice rings clearly down the empty corridor.

     

    Aizawa finds out about One for All.

    Izuku Midoriya used to want to be a hero. It seems a distant dream, now, after everything that he's done—after everything that he's been made to do. But it's still there. It's a dim, flickering flame, burning lower by the day.

    He doesn't have time to concern himself with that though, these days he's too focused on staying alive to think too much about what he can never have.

    Then All Might takes a job teaching at UA, and the universe says hey you know what would be fun? What if we fucked Izuku over even more than we already have? and thus, Izuku ends up in the General Education class of UA with strict instructions to report everything he can, because, thank fucking no one, he just can't catch a goddamn break.

    AKA Hisashi Midoriya is a member of one of the most notorious underground supervillain organizations, and Izuku is being forced to help them (even though, trust him, he'd really rather not). Too bad that they don't predict that Izuku's going to get adopted by half the faculty when they send him to spy on the prestigious hero academy.

    It’s not like the others exactly said anything in particular and Peter would be the first to admit that he was on a very steep learning curve when it came to strategy and tactics. The others were so used to it that it was practically like breathing for them. But the little aside comments and the fact that sometimes the others even laughed when he messed up had him pushing himself harder than he ever had which apparently wasn’t enough because the harder he pushed the more epic fails he experienced and---

    Peter stopped because it was only making the burn behind his eyes sting more and the longing to call May stronger.
