Moments where the horse-weight against her shoulder feels soft in its pressure, where he’s quiet and incoherent, or perhaps just coherent enough to patch together his own, BoJack manner of calling her the coolest girlfriend in the world. The pink of her fur looked like it belonged in a cake icing commercial you’d see after SpongeBob, or perhaps that she should stop being so nice because that was how people like her got burgled, and by people like her he meant freaking sexy Persian cats who work in skyscrapers, who people love to burgle.

It was naive to assume every building Claw brought down was uninhabited, that all of the evacuation orders had been foolproof, and that no stray bullets during the prime minister’s speech had hit any civilians - but their blood spilled, eventually smearing against the tile into something Touichirou could almost call rose-colored. A million corpses were a statistic, and an outlandish one at that - perfect for a living supervillain, the man who stood at the top of the world, so far above the commoners that they no longer registered as human.
But one corpse?

World domination is a messy, terrible undertaking, and Touichirou learns this the worst way imaginable.

He doesn’t want any of this, doesn't want to be touched or helped or spoken to or seen at all. He wants to stand up and walk away and fix it himself. He wants to be left alone to die. He wants to be held until it stops hurting. For better or worse, he’s not getting anything he wants right now.

“Honestly,” Sonic says, gaze drifting toward Shadow, who was busy sifting through and organizing the medicine storage box, “I didn’t expect you to be this good at this kinda stuff.”
“Hmph.” With a click, Shadow shut the lid of the box. “You are hardly the first sick person I’ve cared for. And I do prefer to win our races without the Doctor’s machinations interfering.” Placing a comforting hand on his chest, Shadow gives him a soft smile. “Rest. We wouldn’t want to aggravate your migraine or…” a smirk flashes across his face, “warts.”
Sonic groans. “You’re never gonna let me live that down, are you.”
After another mission at an Eggman base, Sonic's having a bit of a problem regarding drowsiness and headaches. Naturally, Shadow tries his best to assist, even as Sonic's symptoms seem to get more and more aggravated.
