Edgeworth turns up the collar of his coat, shivering slightly. The wind has begun whipping up around him in the dwindling light. It’s only around five in the afternoon, but the sun is already beginning to sink.
Another reason to hate winter. Not that he’s in need of any more.
He’s studying the marker flags, trying to match the trampled blood splatter to what was described in the forensics report, when he hears a distant rumbling. He straightens up, alarmed, but knowing it’s likely nothing more than an airplane passing overhead.
But the sound grows louder, and the sky is clear. He turns around.
Snow is falling. A great tide of snow is crashing down the mountain.
Avalanche, he thinks faintly.

It’s Dazai, after all: bleeding out at ungodly hours is his kind of thing, and dragging Chuuya in his messes is definitely his thing, too.

His mind completed the whole picture. The chasm that he spent months in, the tortuous climb he needed to survive to get to the Hexgate, the far away top of the tower, that is amidst pristine white clouds and barely touching the welkin.Jayce was back in the home of all his nightmares, the timeline where he had failed to stop a catastrophe.
But this time, he wasn’t alone. Viktor, his one and only partner, was also there.
And all they needed to do together, was to get back to their world.
