The scent of petroleum and rain that wafted from Hannibal was perforated by a sharp, distinctly masculine odor, entirely unrecognizable to him.
Will felt the world teeter. He turned his gaze to the floor, then to Hannibal’s jacket where it hung next to his, looking for specks of blood or any other sign of a struggle. There were none.
But that smell –
Earthy and potent, somehow familiar, though difficult to place. A locker room smell, overripe dirty laundry, stale sweat and ammonia.
While on the run, Hannibal has sex with another man to get Will's attention. It works.

Summary
Will searches the near-dark quickly. It’s a small room, not many places to hide. The image of Hannibal’s slack face comes back to him and he feels the first stir of panic at the same time as he spots a pale hand sticking out from under the bed, moonlit fingers curled into a loose fist.
Will and Hannibal are staying at a motel after the fall. Will can't sleep and takes a walk, and when he comes back, Hannibal is gone.

Adam’s instinct was to say yes, he did mind, but when he thought about it, there wasn’t truly any reason for him to say no. Nigel would tell him where to drive; he didn’t need to be nervous about directions.

He sat by the fire, one knee drawn up, and Tristan knew that if he shifted just an inch, he’d flash the lot of them. Something had to be done. Otherwise, the skirt would be nothing more than a belt by morning.
