Brock Rumlow had been a promising choice for Dr. Woodhouse's program. In fact his application to participate in the ‘performance research advantageous to the legacy of Hydra deep science and the principles of Hydra’ had leaped out at the doctor from among many exciting candidates. The program was specifically one of performance enhancement and Commander Rumlow was always keen to perform.
'All stories are about wolves. All worth repeating, that is. Anything else is sentimental drivel. …Think about it. There's escaping from the wolves, fighting the wolves, capturing the wolves, taming the wolves. Brock watched as his Italian companion ordered him a coffee and a light salad. Brock’s nose and throat were still a little raw from the pool chlorine, he was more refreshed than in the first hours post-flight and the idea of a snack was pleasant.

Ar-Pharazôn, the mighty King of Númenor, thinks he has triumphed when his powerful enemy, Sauron, surrenders. Thinking to use the sorcerer’s knowledge, the King carries him back to his glorious island kingdom. However, Sauron’s greatest power lies not in his armies, but in his capacity for guile and seduction. A drama with many players.
Rating: M overall, although, no doubt, future chapters will have explicit content.

Summary
The Númenórean King Ar-Pharazôn thinks he has won an easy victory when Sauron surrenders to him and becomes his prisoner. But the march back to Umbar with the conniving Dark Lord turns out to have many unanticipated twists and turns through a nest of politics and intrigue, including Sauron's attempted seduction of Ar-Pharazôn's favorite male courtesan.
MEFA 2009 First Place winner in Genres: Longer Works: Incomplete (Vol. 1 is now complete)
This fic was recommended in USA Today, May 20, 2015! (They have a fanfiction section. Who knew?)
