Apollo drew in a breath. “Do you remember, when we were kids, and I’d… I’d have dreams about the fire, even though I didn’t consciously remember it? And whenever Dhurke wasn’t there you’d drag me over to his bed so we could sleep next to each other there? Well, uh… I know we’re not kids anymore, but…”
Nahyuta blinked. He… thought he remembered something like that, now that Apollo mentioned it. He didn’t remember it in the same detail as Apollo did, though he was moved by the fact that he’d clung on to that memory. He was a smart enough man to see what Apollo was getting at here. He didn’t need his brother’s perceptive ability to see the way he glanced down at the pillow next to Nahyuta’s, even in the dark.
Or: Two brothers comfort each other after having some rough dreams.

When Ga'ran is finally deposed, Nahyuta is faced with a new life of freedom. Kept busy with all of the work he must continue as prosecutor, as prince regent, and as a monk, he stays focused on the future and what lies in store for Khura'in. However, after an assassination attempt throws his life out of order, Nahyuta can do nothing but dwell on his mistakes. The past comes creeping in, and he can't stop Pandora's box once it's opened.
There's always something to atone for.

“Need a light?” A voice draws Nahyuta from their thoughts. A horribly familiar voice that is, quite frankly, the last thing they want to hear right now. They narrow their eyes as they turn to face the speaker, who’s leaning against the wall a few feet away from them with a cheap-looking lighter in hand.
Usually they’d at least attempt to put up their usual guise of being a holy man, but right now they’ve had a long enough day and little enough luck with their late father’s lighter that the energy they’d usually have to do such a thing is long gone. With as much venom as they can muster, they say, “I don’t want anything from you, Blackquill.”--
In which lighter is shared and Nahyuta learns more about Simon - and themself.

It’s not something I could or ever would stop doing just because it makes you feel icky.” Before Apollo can fire back, she tacks on, “If you regret this and you never wanna try again, then fine, but I didn’t agree to teach you to swim because I thought it’d be easy and painless. I did it because you’re my friend. Family, even.”
Apollo looks away, flustered.

Summary
(AU) After failing to prove Ga'ran's guilt for the murder of Minister Inga, Apollo is forced into hiding, and joins the Defiant Dragons as Nahyuta's second-in-command. Through blood, sweat, and tears, they strive for the chance to fix their mistake, and bring an end to the Ga'ran regime. As things get more dire though, the revolution—and their bonds—are put to the test.
Based on the third bad ending in Turnabout Revolution (6-5).
