Summary
He gets these memories, see, and he integrates them with the new information he's learned, but since day one, one thing has stuck:
Steve, no matter the circumstance, no matter if he's bruised and bloody and about to become someone's mantle piece for making the worst choices and disguising them as 'patriotism', has the tendency to talk back.
He's got a smart mouth, likes to make snide comments when he knows people are going to hear him. Never around Stark, God knows what he'd do if he found out Captain America was just as childish, but Bucky knows this, the whole team knows this. The worst part? It drives Bucky out of his goddamn mind.
(Or: Steve has a smart mouth and Bucky knows exactly how to put it to good use.)

Summary
A little number scratched into the chipped paint of a bathroom wall sits in Steve’s peripherals. The same number is in his phone, in a contact, the big call button beckoning him to press.
This is the worst decision of his life.
He presses the button, waiting through the series of rings, and tenses up when a voice greets him. He wants to hang up, drop the phone; get the hell out of there with the thought in mind to never come back, never give himself the power to break his heart like this. And yet he sits, unmoving, and eventually the voice asks what he wants.
“Just you,” Steve says into the phone. “I can’t take this anymore.”
“You miss me already?” The voice asks, taunting him, playful and light.
“Always, Buck,” Steve breathes. “So much.”

“I’m not sharing my room,” Sam mutters, knowing as he says it that it sounds exactly like he’s a fucking ten year old facing a new sibling. Steve hastily makes what Sam thinks is supposed to be an understanding face.
“Of course not,” he says soothingly. “He can bunk in with me, it’s not like we haven’t done it before. It's a twin room, anyway, there's already a spare bed.”
Sam guesses a bigger house is out of the question. Whatever; the three of them have spent eight hours crammed in a Mini, it can’t be that bad.
It’s not that bad. It’s worse.

Summary
“You should take a hint,” Bucky says. “Or better yet, take this as an instruction manual—” He gestures broadly at the bodies littering the floor. “—and put a bullet in my fucking brain.”
“Bucky!” It’s grief and a flash of anger, and Bucky’s face tightens, lips a thin, furious line. “Buck, please. I don’t—I can’t imagine what you’re going through. But you don’t have to do it alone. Come with me. Come home.”
There’s a moment, so brief that Steve will never know whether he imagined it, when Bucky looks tempted, when he softens, the stark lines of his face mellowing into something warm and helpless. And then it’s gone and blazing blue eyes bore into Steve.
“To hell,” Bucky enunciates very clearly, voice steady with unnatural calm, “with you and your savior complex. Go find another lost cause, Captain.”
It’s that title, barbed and deliberate and bitingly impersonal, that does it.
The anger that was a quiet spark roars into an inferno.
Softly, with bared teeth, Steve says, “Get fucked, Barnes.”
“Do it yourself, motherfucker.”

Bucky's a bit of a masochist in that sense – needles and the buzz of a tattoo gun have always turned him on...
It’s even worse that this client is what they call a ‘needle virgin’. Doesn’t appear to have a piercing anywhere on him (although Bucky could still be surprised; you never know what people have hiding under their clothes), and he’s already made it clear that he has no prior ink. Bucky’s always found something inherently sexy about being the first person to introduce another to that experience. Not all people like it; some can only handle the one tattoo and then they’re done for good, never seen again.
Others have the tendency to come back, and Bucky always feels a small sense of pride when he watches those select clients getting more and more added to their bodies – now in love with the art form. And if they happen to be getting tattooed by Clint, or Natasha, or Logan, there’s always that feeling of, But my art went on you first.
He has absolutely no problem popping this guy's needle cherry.
