The voices roared in tandem to their host, as he blindly stumbled forward, “Noo!”
Blind to everyone else, Techno pitched forward to catch his apprentice before the body could fall backward into the beached waters. Ranboo didn’t have any last words to say, eyes already dulled in death. His corpse was yanked into his mentor’s chest as if he were a ragdoll. The grief arrived with a swift body slam on his side, Dream cramming his face into the piglin’s, screaming into deaf ears.

“Master Richard,” he said. “You’ve been with us for twenty years. Certainly you know the rules about phones at the table.”
“Sorry, Alfred,” Dick gave the man a boyish, sheepish grin. “In my defense, that particular rule was only implemented in my last year living here. And, really, we’re already—”
Dick stopped as his gaze fell on his phone’s screen. His eyes widened, the smile falling from his face.
“What?” It took all of Bruce’s will power not to take the phone from Dick’s hand and get the answer himself.
“Oswald Loomis was discovered missing from his cell in Cook County Jail about two hours ago,” Dick said.
