Leo finds Donnie in the kitchen.
It’s late, even by his twin’s standards- the overhead lights are off, and only the dim glow of the LEDs under the cabinets illuminate the scene. Donnie’s sitting at the island table, idly messing with something on his tech bracer, but even from across the room Leo can tell there’s something wrong. There’s a tension in Donnie’s shoulders that Leo’s seen way too often these past few weeks, and his foot is tapping aggressively against the floor, an anxious staccato beat that Leo knows isn’t in line with the flow of music he can faintly hear coming from Dee’s headphones.
So Leo shuffles his way through the door frame, crutches under both arms, and tries to walk loudly enough to be heard over the thrum of synth.Or- The turtles live in a subway station. That's not always relevant. This time it is.

Malevola has him pinned against her side, hanging onto him like she’s afraid he’s going to get swallowed by the drunken crowd. Sonar is on her other side, ears glowing faintly with the strobe lights as he knocks into her repeatedly.
Visi swings by, wipes the corner of his mouth, then disappears. Hot hands find his head a second- seconds? minutes? later. The flash of orange and black coming closer has him swaying dangerously to catch whatever Flambae starts to mutter against his ear. Something about shitty music?
Coop saunters past with a glint of metal, prying the empty tumbler from his hand. Punch Up appears with a full one to replace it. It makes his face flush when he takes a swig.
“Yo! Anyone seen Golem?” Prism pushes through. She’s got Waterboy by the wrist; She might be about to use him to purposely slip people and get them out of her way. Phenomaman is floating after them.
Visi comes back again, this time with Blazer holding on for dear life. They’re hugging like it’s the end of the world instead of just being drunk in a shitty bar. Blazer smiles, dimples showing. His vision swims.
The whiskey burns. So does the ache in his chest.

“Is this real?” he demands, clutching the ceramic sink as glass shards spill onto his hands. Lines and spots of blood prick his skin. All he can do is stare into the drain, his reflection refracted in pieces now. The fear has claws, and it leaves deep gouges in his chest. “Why can't I tell?”
