Summary
Galinda is still asleep, her cheek pressed against Elphaba’s shoulder, her hand loosely clutching the edge of the quilt. Her face is unguarded in sleep, all the tension melted away, and Elphaba finds herself staring before she can think better of it. But then her heart lurches, and she blurts, “Why are you sleeping on me?”
Galinda stirs, frowning, and lets out a groggy groan. “Because I like you, you idiot.”
Elphaba goes utterly still.
Galinda’s eyes remain closed, her voice muffled and thick with sleep. She shifts slightly, tucking her head further into the crook of Elphaba’s neck. “Don’t shout,” she mumbles. “‘S too loud.”
Or: A little Freudian slip never killed anyone...right?
