One time Buck and I signed up for this pen pal program, but the kid in Maine I was writing with gave up after two rounds of letters. It was during my ancient Egypt phase and I think I scared him off with my questions about mummies. Buck told me I was too cool for him anyway.

A year ago at that bachelor party, so drunk he was draped across Buck’s lap with his nose buried in all the intoxicating silky heat beneath the notch of Buck’s jaw, Eddie asked Buck what he smelled like to him.
It’s not a question you’re supposed to ask, but Eddie forgets the rules sometimes. Ignores them. Things like that don’t matter between him and Buck, they never have.
He’s still not sure what he expected Buck to say. Nothing, maybe, which he assumed was the truth, Eddie’s scent faded to barely echo of what it should be. But Buck had taken Eddie’s jaw in one hand, had tipped his head back so the line of his neck was bared to Buck like an offering, had stopped to scent him with his mouth still open, had said against Eddie’s sweat-tacky skin, so low his voice thrummed in his chest, You’re the sweetest thing I’ve ever met.

He swallows down the whine that threatens to permeate the innocent air of the store, and with clammy hands, pushes his cart to self-checkout so none of these poor cashiers ask if he's having a medical emergency from how red his face is. Is he drooling? He doesn’t think he’s drooling – at least, not from the mouth.
On autopilot, he loads his thankfully non-perishable groceries into his backseat and navigates his vehicle safely and calmly through the winding downtown streets to Buck’s apartment.

“Even if something happened to me he wouldn’t stay with you!” The words feel like they have been ripped from my very soul.
Eddie Diaz struggles with his feelings. This is a fix-it fic of 8x14 to the end of season 8.
Such a large part of me (Sami) wants to close up a lot of loss ends that the show has left untouched. Especially Eddie's grief and guilt surrounding Shannon.
