Remember, all the government posters say, it was the Marked that destroyed the world.
The Old World was lost to famine and calamity and a new, harsher one has risen in its place. A city divided into sectors, ruled by a king and his chaebol court, where the Marked struggle to eke out a living in poverty and oppression, and one mistake can get you sanctioned forever - lost to hard labor in the factories and greenhouses or to life as a companion trapped in the gilded apartments of the inner sector elite.
But a revolution is stirring in the shadows and everything is about to change.

I’ve had this fic on my MFL list for a while and on a whim, just decided to read it a few days ago. It started like a normal fanfic would, then proceeded to make me stay awake for 30 hours straight when it didn’t release me from its hold for the ENTIRE night and then, suddenly, I was sold to slavery (aka had to work) just to come back at it as soon as I got home. Somewhere in the middle of ch 6 I passed out from lack of sleep (surprise!) but then got to finish it today.
This entirely unnecessary testimony is just to exemplify how ABSURDLY GOOD this work is. -
