He couldn’t believe how fucking stupid he’d been, thinking he could just go along with the gang and Stolas to L-fucking-A on a wild goose chase for Via after the shitshow that was Ozzie’s. Like things would be okay afterwards, like they’d just merrily go their separate ways and not end up dredging up all the bullshit surrounding them.

Summary
Steve sits ramrod straight as he hears Bucky closing in on the door. He stands, silently, and waits just out of Bucky’s line of sight. As Bucky crosses the threshold of their bedroom door, Steve yells, “Buck, catch!” Bucky immediately turns to his husband, brows furrowed in confusion.
“Wha-” Then, his eyes widen as he sees something coming at him full speed. As expected, the man reacts without second thought, snatching the hammer out of the air. Without observing what is sitting in his hand, Bucky turns a glare on Steve, ranting.
“Steve, what the fuck?! I ain’t a soldier no more, you can’t just go throwin’ shit in the house, you’re gonna break something you goddamned punk, what-”
