Things have changed. He's left the nunnery he grew up in, the rules he'd always known, the people, the village, his very name - he has nothing to his new name and so has nothing to lose.
As Aziraphale approaches the foreboding castle ahead and the deadly vampire who lives within, he's well aware of this fact. But having nothing to lose means having everything to gain, and it seems worth a risk. Worth another drastic change.
And, as Crowley well knows, life changes even after its end.

“Here’s a thought,” he said, drawing Aziraphale’s attention away from the window. “What’s the first thing you’re going to do with me when you get to my place?”
Aziraphale glanced down at himself in Crowley’s body as if he’d forgotten, a slight flush creeping up his neck that was so characteristically him that it looked almost obscene on his own skin. “Nothing. I won’t be doing anything with you… I mean, me.”
(Or a lesson in how an almost innocent joke can get very out of hand, very quickly.)

The Kingdom of Abaddon is in trouble. There's no more money, and the King and Queen are on the verge of losing everything. In order to keep their kingdom, they enter into a deal with King Gabriel of Elysia, a powerful kingdom to the South. In return for protection, both economic and political, Gabriel's brother, the Crown Prince Aziraphale, will be wed to Prince Anthony of Abaddon. Neither Anthony or Aziraphale are too thrilled to be marrying a man they never met, but they have no choice. After all, it's just an arrangement of convenience.

Hopeful and on fire with the desire to work, serious and ready for anything life could throw his way. Overall, desperate, Aziraphale was prepared to jump at the first company that offered him an internship. He should have read the fine print, should have flipped through the subject book. Aziraphale had always wanted to be a photographer but never once had he thought of male modeling. Much less being part of the photography team for the media's 'Incarnation of Sin itself.'

Crowley never expected to see somebody so well-meaning and genuinely too innocent to notice he got himself dirty, piss against the wind and giggle while doing it.
It was adorable. It was surprising. It was a curiosity, and Crowley had a mighty need.
(Also, the guy was rubbish at small talk.)
OR
He just really needed to get drunk.
What he didn’t need was an angel in a toga looking alarmingly excited after recognizing him.
(But then Aziraphale, a Dithering Angel, the Dithering Angel unknowingly did something absolutely obscene while trying to teach Crowley how to suck an oyster dry in one go, and something in him just s n a p p e d. Like a dry branch. A brittle bone. A twisted mind, prone to madness.)
