Summary
There was a secret laboratory with the intention of creating subjects to rival Soldiers. Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis are dispatched to infiltrate, capture the scientist responsible, and rescue the subjects. But nothing turned out according to plan.
Cloud, known on file as "Fenrir the Wild", is among the successful subjects. Although considered a loner of the group, he is still respected being equal in strength to Nero. And soon as his path crossed the Soldiers, Cloud was quick to set his sights on Sephiroth. At first to test his strength. But after his capture, Cloud finds himself relying upon Sephiroth to stay out of another laboratory. And along the shaky path of trust, feelings begin to stir.
This is a rewrite of a previous unfinished story from fanfiction net by the title "Taming the Heart Eater".

Cloud opened his eyes, the smell of food strong in his nose. He vaguely recalled Tifa telling him that she was out with Yuffie this morning to get some fresh air and out of Edge. After the incident with Sephiroth and Geostigma, people slowly but surely went back to their daily struggles. He was the same. After a particularly tiring delivery day, Cloud had called it a day and went to sleep with a headache.
“Cloud, wake up! The mayor told everybody to assemble after breakfast, so don’t fall asleep again”, a familiar female voice and the sound of plates in the sink muffled through the door.
Groggy and with a tired sigh, Cloud heaved himself out of bed, reaching for the door.
He felt heavier as usual, a remnant of the Geostigma? More importantly,
“Just what does Domino want? I told Reeve to handle him for a while-”“Reeve? Cloud, are you still asleep?”
Blond hair, tied into a ponytail and the same blue eyes as his stared at him amused.
“Mom?”

Or Cloud wakes up as his younger self, suspecting Sephiroth behind it.

One summer, Death vanished. When it returned, a new being that people in Midgar named Angrboda, for its ferocity and violence.
Now after another decade of absence, Death returned. This time with another apprentice; Siren. More brutal than its predecessor, the new slaughter has left the MPD spiraling.But with Death's absence came a gap; filled by four killers just as brutal, just as bloody.
The Hound, even more brutal than Angrboda had been, though not nearly as methodic. Feral and Punishing, often mocking his victims.
The Starved Man, everything The Hound is not; Methodical, Clean, and Careful. Leaving behind immaculate scenes, with not a single clue.
The Red Mage; Known for their love to torch their scenes and their victims, leaving behind only hints to Why the victim was killed. Their control of flame suggests Materia long outlawed.
Unknown; Clean. Merciless. A potential copycat of Deaths Of which there are many. But none as skilled as Unknown.Midgar must watch as Siren explores the new territory and new prey within.

Summary
Cloud made a promise to Gaia, believing he would return to the past to stop Sephiroth from erasing Cloud’s existence. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned. It didn’t help that the Goddess elected to solve the issue of his continued existence through the use of Sephiroth’s cells. Couldn’t she have made him a bit bigger at least?
When Sephiroth was called to an emergency in Hojo’s laboratory, he didn’t expect to find the Professor dead, nor was he expecting to walk out a father to a mysterious five-year-old boy. Nor was Shinra, for that matter. Nevertheless, he’ll adjust. He hopes.
Shinra’s SOLDIERs hadn’t expected to babysit Sephiroth’s new son, who may or may not be looking to commit patricide.
(AKA Gaia saw Sephiroth needing a family and yeeted Cloud at him like a son-shaped grenade.)
