Summary

In all places beyond Westchester, their rights are few--and, with Erik Lehnsherr poised to tear down the gates of the city, even that last haven is on the brink of destruction. But, for Charles Xavier, the consequences of conquest may prove to be more personal than political. No one quite knows why Erik is so set on capturing his old friend and partner in the war against Shaw: Charles is no bearer, and he's disinclined to aid Erik in firmly establishing mutant supremacy once and for all.

Shaw is King, Charles is his royal consort and Erik is a Knight/Lord. Shaw is sterile but his kingdom can't find out, so he asks Erik to impregnate Charles.
He doesn't know Erik and Charles are in love.
I've demoted Shaw from king to an earl and only one of the boys is in love. Yet.The title is the first line of Radiohead's 'Climbing Up The Walls' which has nothing to do with the fic. Okay, maybe it has. A little.

Professor Charles Xavier is thirty-two years old when he meets his Sentinel, and as a credit to his half of the subspecies, he still manages to finish the seminar, run through a credible Q&A session, thank the Dean for the invitation to lecture as a guest at the Yale School of Medicine, before finally fleeing the theatre to find the nearest bathroom.
While he's busy throwing up into a toilet, he dimly hears the door to the bathrooms opening, then getting locked, and then someone is awkwardly patting him on the back, and Charles knows rather than sees that the Sentinel is conscientiously offering him tissues to wipe his mouth.
Maybe not a bastard, then.

Summary
The room that Charles is held in is simple, and underground, a concrete bunker of a place hewn into a cube, with a simple white cot for a bed. There's a small black and white television set, plugged to the wall within hand's reach of the bed, and an ensuite bathroom attached to the chamber. They're somewhere in the Nevada desert, as far as Charles dimly remembers, one of Erik's many boltholes. There's no one else in the entire facility, and Erik's mind is closed to Charles from the helmet. The silence is both blissful and excruciating.
