17 year-olds go on school trips all the time. So why is Tony freaking out about Peter going on one?
It’s definitely not because Peter was dead for over five years, and Tony only just got him back nine months ago. And definitely not because Tony’s been avoiding calls from Fury about needing the kid for some damn SHIELD mission (over Tony’s bum arm will he let that ever happen).
It’s definitely not because this will be the longest he’ll have gone without seeing Peter, all while said kid is thousands of miles away-- far out of Tony’s reach.

Tony has a double take when Peter Parker enters the room, hands behind his back and secured through handcuffs he could effortlessly break out of in seconds.
There was duct tape covering his mouth and his eyes were darting around the warehouse until they made contact with Tony. His eyes widened in surprise and he stares back at his own captor with a questioning and maybe desperate look. In return, the captor gives an awfully pleased smirk and continues to nudge him forward.
“Told you this wasn’t about you, boy.”

Peter wakes up to white noise, static, a weight in his head that makes him feel like he'll never stand up straight again. His whole body is a wreck and every breath he takes is full of nails and pain. He can barely move.
Tony's face is the first thing to come into focus. If the blurry outline of him can be called focus.
"Tell me before May gets in here," Tony says, gravely serious. He rests his hand gently on Peter's shoulder. "I'm giving you that chance. What's going on?"
Peter knows he can't hide it anymore. He wants to sigh, but it hurts too much. Everything hurts too much. It shouldn't hurt this much.
"I think I'm losing my powers."

Tony worries his brain is misfiring, transporting him across time and space in one final insane journey. He swallows hard, and he hears those garbled voices again. He can’t make out words, or tone, or who the hell is talking, but somebody definitely is, and it sounds strangely like they’re underwater. Or he is.
He grits his teeth and turns around, and before he can even begin to trudge over towards Peter’s room, he’s stopped in his tracks.
By a door. In the middle. Of the living room. Straight up and down like a monolith, just beside the glass coffee table.
Tony chews on his lower lip and stares at it. “Well that’s new,” he says, still rooted to the spot.
