Summary
In unearthing the Nomu Factory, the Heroes and police of Japan discovered a body. This was not unexpected, but the nationality and uniform of the corpse in question… that was. Because this failed Nomu wore the uniform of Amestris, a war torn nation from the isolated continent of Atossa, where Quirks and modern electronics had never developed and never worked.
Edward Elric hoped he could retire from military service in peace, traveling Amestris while his brother Alphonse went to Xing. This is put on hold when now-Führer Mustang asks him to travel to the Outside, to the world beyond that was barricaded for centuries after the development of something called ‘Quirks’. A soldier has been killed and Amestris needs to know more about the Outside.

Or, Edward Elric and Amestris meet the greater world of Heroes and Villains. It remains to be seen who’s more traumatized by the encounter.

So, it didn’t start out like this.
Alfred would scoff at the statement, about how Bruce was trying to justify the whole situation to himself. It had started out as a simple design, black everything with black outlines and black hood. It got a little more intense as the world went on, got wind of his ghost on the streets, and became scared of The Bat . So Bruce got a little more creative with it, Alfred and him had a good laugh over the name, the scare, and Alfred had a vicious streak of humor that he had passed onto his ward-
So now the suit had a visible bat-theme, an insignia to drape in the shadows and to paint across the streets of Gotham.
It only took a year into the whole charade of heroism for Bruce to overhear a conversation between some goons- some low level thug hired by the Riddler this week- about nothing at all pertaining to what the hell the Riddler was doing in the sewers but instead:
“ The Batman can fly, you know, I’ve seen his wings.”

It was the first year of the new programme, and Blue still wasn’t sure about how he felt about the whole thing. The plan had been to just set up the programme and let someone else handle the middle-manning. In his head, they came to Kalos, handed the kids off to some less-famous shmuck, and then he and Red could spend the time enjoying the beautiful Lumiose autumn.
As was so often the case, that had kind of fallen apart as soon as Kukui had got involved.
“Cousin, people come to the Battle Tree to see you,” he had said. “I don’t think Alola’s finest are going to hand over their hard-earned cash for less.”
He’d looked over at Red, expecting to be backed up, as was only appropriate from your boyfriend. But Red had pursed his lips and, traitorously, nodded.
So, the Champion Exchange Programme had come about with Red and Blue at the helm - Alola’s most powerful trainers on a battle-training-catch extravaganza tour through Kalos. All while Kalos’s finest enjoyed the sunny Alola battle circuit, naturally.

When Blue accepted to an offer from former Champion Leon to come to Galar to do some exhibition matches for the new Battle Tower, he had just been sort of imagining a smaller Unova. He didn’t really know much about Galar – it was fairly small, after all, and didn’t really have a particularly close relationship to either Kanto or Alola. Mostly, all that came to mind when somebody said ‘Galar’ to him was fish and chips, wizard novels, and Dynamax battles. It was only the latter, really, either he or Red were particularly interested in.
It turned out there was a lot more to see in Galar than he’d anticipated.

Sinnoh was ridiculously cold. Blue knew he’d just gotten used to the tropical Alolan climate, but he honestly did not know how people lived up here!
Red, naturally, was in his element. The cold suited him, as did how sparsely populated and trecherous must of Sinnoh was. He looked to be itching to get up Mt Coronet and start their research expedition already.
Cynthia must have spotted him looking longingly at the horizon because she laughed.
“Oh, yes, we’ll be heading up there soon,” she said, and then grimaced, “but there are materials I need to get from someone at Eterna University first.”

It was no good – the wall of snow outside the door had jammed it closed. Not even Machamp could force his way through – at least, not without threatening to bring Masami’s entire house down around them. Blue leaned looked about at the windows, contemplating the upper floor. A kid could maybe wiggle out of the window in Red’s old room, but that was about it. Even then, the storm outside would make it dangerous.
Next to him, Red grabbed Charizard’s Pokéball from his best.
“Good idea,” Blue said, getting ready to send Arcanine out himself.
“Oh no you don’t!”
Masami appeared between them, seizing her son and Blue by the arm. Although they now both towered over her, her grip was just as firm as it had been when they were six years old.

‘Are you sure you’ll be okay by yourself for a few weeks?’
It’s the fifteenth time Blue has asked, and it’s starting to get on Red’s nerves. Something must show on his face, because Blue waves a hand, sighing.
‘It’s not that. I know you can take care of yourself,’ he shrugs, and then rests a hand gently on the cast on Red’s leg, ‘It’s this.’
Red glances down, frowning. His frown deepens at the signatures scrawled across the plaster – he’d initially tried to stop people from doing it, didn’t like the messiness, but a couple of the Battle Tree regulars did it anyway. As always, people really didn’t get ‘no’. Eventually, he gave in.
Even though Blue signed last, he managed to take up the most space.
‘I can cancel,’ Blue offers, again, but his heart is not in it. He’s been looking forward to this. They’ve been looking forward to this.
The plan had been Kalos, for four weeks. Blue had gotten an invitation to take part in a research tour, an expedition of the mountains. Naturally, Red had been immediately invited, with the plan to extend the expedition to a more personal tour of the country afterwards.
Then, Red broke his leg.

‘It’s Winterstar,’ she said simply, tone completely calm, but her grip tightened on the gift in her hands, crinkling the paper. She glanced down, smoothed down the wrapping, and then thrust it into Blue’s hands.
‘I don’t think my son would enjoy being alone on Winterstar,’ she said, simply, ‘Even he doesn’t like his solitude that much.’
Blue sighed, running a hand through his hair. He didn’t come back from Kalos for winter break for this. Running around delivering Red his care packages wasn’t exactly his idea of a good time.
