Summary
A boy named Isaac wakes up in an unfamiliar world, in the body of a Zorua, and finds himself falling into some less-than-friendly company.
An unfinished fanfic I wrote back in 2016. Was meant to have multiple viewpoint protagonists and build to a big, epic story, but this is all there was to it by the time I dropped it. I guess it works as a self-contained story in the same way the PMD TV specials do?

Summary
Legends say that when the world was dying, the world became filled with monsters imbued with elemental abilities that could be harmed by no weapon. Eventually brave humans discovered that some monsters could be tamed and this gave rise to the first Defenders; monster trainers in positions of protection and safety.
Sam’s path to become a Defender is complicated by failing to graduate from the Striaton Defender Academy. But through an anonymous sponsor, he can qualify through a series of challenges; the National Defender Challenge circuit (the NDC).
An infamously weird fellow student of the Defender Academy, who calls himself N, cultivates an unnerving interest in Sam. N gifts him an old, white stone that plagues Sam with terrifying dreams and changes his life forever.
The scene is being set and characters cast on a universal stage. Twin dragons threaten to awaken from their slumber and throw the world into chaos. The result will decide the future of every single human and monster.
Sam is a lot of things, but a hero? Are you kidding?
