Almost one year after the conclusion of the Paranormal Liberation War, Ochako Uraraka is haunted by Himiko Toga’s death and trying to honour her sacrifice by working harder, doing more, being better.
Hawks surprises Ochako when he finds a quirk user who can capture and broadcast her and Himiko’s fight, to finally allow Japan and the world to see all that occurred between them, including Himiko’s sacrifice.
What Ochako doesn’t know is this is one step in a much larger plan, a plan that Hawks and Principal Nezu have been working on since Hawks made a fateful, impulsive decision as Ochako was being airlifted away from the battle at Gunga.

Being taken in by the League of Villains was her turning point.
After being deprived of emotions, she could feel. Her wandering was over; she had love, or maybe fragments of love? Never completed and easily stripped from her.
Now, she has a chance of redemption from her past, from her vile former times to now. She could regain trust, faith, and love for humanity. Possibly, for someone?
Who might they be? A woman's touch, or a man's? What does she yearn for more? Will it be too much for her, or too little?

Toga’s conflicting views of people, things, and anything clouds her judgement.
Ochako’s forthcomingness makes her too truthful at times, unfortunate times.
Meeting briefly, under pretenses not suitable for anything other than becoming enemies, could be their downfall yet it isn’t.

Ochako couldn't hear the rest. A photo of his siblings was the medic's lock screen, and his sister had a lovely smile, soft green eyes, and blond hair swept to the side in a messy side bun. Probably to keep it out of her way while working to save lives, just like her brother. The two of them had the same hair and eyes, she realized with a shudder.
But Ochako wouldn't be going to Meito Ward today. She was slated to go to Kuze Ward per the roster, because that was where they needed her quirk today.
She committed the name and face to memory though, just in case. It was the least she could do. The poor medic was trying so hard to help her to the point where it was unnecessary. Excessive, even.
Hana.
Or alternatively, in a world with too many victims and not enough heroes, everyone has a role to play. As Ochako struggles under the crushing weight of a country buried in rubble, mislaid guilt combines with unmentionable grief and heartbreak to erode away everything she thought she'd be.
