His thumb kept slipping, and he made the mistake of looking directly at Shen Wen Lang’s face on the screen — the eyes, black, bright, pinning him exactly where he sat in the center of his own, unmade bed. “Maybe I wanted—” He choked. As long as he didn’t finish the sentence, it didn’t exist, and as long as it didn’t exist, he hadn’t said it.
But Wen Lang would, of course, finish it for him. “Are you in bed?”
Gao Tu nodded.
“Alone?”
He nodded again.
Late one night, a drunken misdial turns Gao Tu’s screen into a stage he never meant to step on. Half-naked, exposed, and flushed under the blue glow of his phone, he finds himself at the mercy of his immaculate boss, Shen Wen Lang.
