Despite this, there's a niche conspiracy theory online convinced that this is all a front and she is actually sending covert signals to her most dedicated fans that she's in reality been a lesbian all along.
Grian thinks this is frankly bullshit and is going to prove these fans wrong once and for all.

Summary
The rain had been mercilessly pouring onto the poor, little town since morning, showing no signs of stopping. Grian was hunched over her desk, grading her students’ exams and trying her best to not pull her hair out while doing so. Some answers made her want to scream. After deciding that she can’t take anymore, she put the pile of papers away and leaned back into her chair, staring out the window. Everything outside was a soft grey or blue, street lights like distant, glowing orbs hovering in the sky, and a layer of water on about all that the rain touched—the view instead of looking dull and depressing, looked magical.
Grian pushed her glasses up her nose and swivelled her chair to look at her girlfriend sitting on the couch, looking out the window with longing in her eyes. Scar was a vampire. And just as the myths claimed, she couldn’t step out in the sun without burning. Today was one of the few days the sun was covered by a thick blanket of dark clouds. Grian could tell what Scar wanted and Grian could also tell Scar was hesitating to go alone, and simultaneously she also didn’t want to disturb Grian from her work.
