Summary
College is over and Castiel wants his career as an Army Quartermaster lieutenant to begin. But first there are a few little matters of Jump School, the Officers Basic Course, trying to find a babysitter for his son Jeff, being a good mate to John, pondering his feelings for Dean all while trying to maintain some semblance of sanity. Oh when can life begin?
This part of the story takes place between June 1978 to January 1979.

Summary
In 1975 the US Congress passed and President Gerald Ford signed into law, the instrument that allowed women and omegas into the military academies and the ROTC-Reserve Officers Training Corps to begin in the training cycles of 1976.
Castiel Novac, the 21 year old son of infantry Col Zachariah Novac, has spent a good chunk of his summer at ROTC basic camp in Fort Knox, KY . Prior to this, he'd worked a myriad of dead end jobs to put himself through a local community college (the Col refused to put a dime toward his education maintaining 'no omega child of his would waste his money by getting an education when he should be getting mated and having pups' ) So to spite the old bastard (I am Omega, hear me roar), Cas has earned himself an ROTC scholarship to the Rochester Inst of Technology in Rochester, New York to major in Criminal Justice and a chance for an army commision.
This part of the story takes place from August 1976 to May 1978.

Summary
In this AU prequel, I shamelessly (but with permission) follow on from "False Impressions," a wonderful story by Jellico of a younger set of brothers trying to understand each other, and a father able to be part of young Heath's life. This premise for the timeline and AU, the concept of how Tom Barkley might interact with this new son, intrigued me. I hope I've done Jellico justice. I recommend you read "False Impressions" first prior to starting "Explanations," if you haven't already done so.
After posting the first chapter, which was intended to be a standalone, the author, Jellico, kindly encouraged me to continue the stories.
They are all stand alone, some couched in humor, some a little angsty, all showing the Barkley Family as a whole as they come to know this newest member, and he them. There are currently 12 standalone stories (chapters), but there are definitely plans for more as time goes on.
I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Summary
After Sam is murdered by a werewolf pack out for revenge, Jessica is left alone to pick up the pieces of her shattered storybook life. She slowly pieces together the truth of Sam's mysterious past, and when Dean appears at Sam's funeral, the final pieces fall into place. Now, Jessica is determined to make Sam's killers pay for taking him away from her, and Dean is determined to clean up his own mess. Much to his annoyance, Jessica Moore-Winchester is not a woman content to sit on the sidelines. In a grudging compromise, they set out together to hunt down the werewolves and get justice for Sam-hunter style. Along the way, they learn more about each other and Sam as they try to move on and navigate the rest of their lives without him. They just never expected moving on to look quite like this.

Summary

At first, Dean doesn’t understand why the man stays around just to basically babysit them... until one terrible day he does: it’s not that Castiel won’t leave, it’s that he can’t — and after that, nothing will ever be the same.
