“It’s okay, Sam, really,” Ponk cut off him off gently. “I meant what I said that day. Y’know, ‘I’d rather be a ghost?’” He gave Sam a helpless smile. “I mean, no one’s gonna miss me anyway, right? The server’s better off with me dead.”
Desperation climbed up Sam’s throat, and he stepped forward to grab see-through hands that felt like solid air. “Ponk, no, that’s―’
“Sam.” Ponk’s sigh-like laugh was melancholy, it pierced Sam right through the heart. “It’s alright. I mean it. It’s not like I was ever someone significant, someone that actually meant something to other people, right? Whenever I did, it wasn’t… for the best reasons.” His eyes became distant, but he shook his head and his eyes met Sam’s again. “And never for long. So this is fine, I’m glad you took my final lives.” He smiled, and it was far too sincere. “You kept your promise, Sammy. I can’t hurt the server now. I won’t be able to get in your way! Isn’t that great?”

Summary
Ponk would be lying if he says he doesn’t love Sam. Of course he does, how can he not? Sam is… incredible. The man has his faults, everyone does. Ponk is no exception.
Sam's shortcoming is cleverly disguised as a beneficial trait. A quirk that works to trick people into thinking it is a positive - a thing to be admired.
His biggest flaw has to be his sense of responsibility.

Ponk loves Sam. He loves Sam to the point of insanity... But while his feelings are reciprocated, he can't help but feel as if there is a certain building, a certain job that will always trump him in terms of importance. That's fine, he can work with that. But promises are promises, and if they're broken... well it's only natural to get payback, isn't it?

Sam loves Ponk. He loves the way Ponk moves, the way he laughs, the way he can emote so much through his eyes alone... he loves him. But a certain shadow keeps Sam from treating Ponk the way he should be treated - a responsibility that suffocates and destroys him every second he spends in its grasp. A responsibility, that could be the end of the man he cares for.

She chuckles.
“Of course, da’len.".
Athros only had three goals in life. One - get a puppy. Two - find all the ancient ruins in Thedas. Three - To stay with Amae forever.
Being eight years old, such goals seemed achievable. He has all the time in the world after all.
However, when his mother's clan requests that they go spy on a certain human Conclave in the Frostbacks, his predictions of his own future are thrown into a maelstrom, with no hope of ever emergeing. Now marked, he has to navigate the politics of shems, battle ancient Tevinter magisters, and uphold a title that does not belong to him.
Luckily - or perhaps unluckily - he will not be alone.
