A slow-burn romantic comedy set in a structured urban fantasy universe where shifters secretly live among humans. The narrative kicks off during a brutal winter storm when the fiercely dedicated but beautifully oblivious Sawamura Eijun rescues what he believes is a freezing, wild tanuki. In reality, the creature is Miyuki Kazuya—the brilliant, notoriously smug engineering student—who has been temporarily "locked" in his animal form. This story is focused on comedy and the theme of 'found family'. It's technically a slow-burn romance, but it's incredibly slow and the romance is not the focal point. It's just a comedy of shenanigans! Keep in mind that while in animal form, shifters are heavily influenced by their animal nature.
The story is written in a day-by-day type of format, so it progresses slowly. This story doesn't have anything to do with logic, so don't try to read it with logic - it's just a lot of silly/stupid humor! :) And I will try to post at least 1 new chapter a week, but will probably post more!Bookmarked by Chim10

Eijun cussed under his breath when he saw the number of views on that damn Miyuki Kazuya’s new video—three million views already, and it just came out an hour ago? How was that even fair!?
And for what? Was it that cocky smile? Was it those impressive biceps that made the sleeves of his t-shirt strain around their shape? Was it that perfect jawline, those shapely brows, his—Eijun cut off his own mental rant as his face burned hot with rage. Just because he was so attractive didn’t mean he deserved all that attention, did it? What good was his content, anyway?

They go right into playing another song. Aotsuki starts off singing this song, but Kazuya can’t take his eyes off of Sawamura. He was being stupid thinking his feelings were just from playing baseball with Sawamura. No, Kazuya fell in love with Sawamura’s personality, his energy, his determination. Baseball may have introduced him to all of that, but Kazuya fell in love with Sawamura for everything that he is. Kazuya was in love with Sawamura the pitcher, he is in love with Sawamura the rockstar, and he would still be in love with Sawamura if he became something else. Kazuya is pretty sure he’ll never love someone the way he loves Sawamura Eijun.

Summary
Sawamura Eijun loves baseball, and has quite a bit of untapped potential, but he lacks confidence due to past experiences in middle school. Not to mention, he’s extremely hard of hearing, which makes communication more difficult. However, an offer to come to Seido still arrives, and suddenly he finds himself going to a school devoted to the sport he had decided he was done with.
Meanwhile, Miyuki Kazuya is great at baseball, but lacks some tact and understanding that would make him an effective leader off the field as well as on. Perhaps it’s just his personality, or perhaps it’s something deeper. Whatever the case, he doesn’t see a need to change, until he’s working with the new first year pitcher at Seido, Sawamura Eijun. Usually, working with a pitcher would be no sweat, even if he offended the player along the way, but there’s one catch: Sawamura Eijun is extremely hard of hearing, and— for some reason— is terrified of upperclassmen.
Or, an AU to Ace of the Diamond where both Sawamura and Miyuki are more traumatized, Sawamura is hard of hearing, and they learn and grow together.
