To say that Grace was nervous for their date was underselling her current state of mind by orders of magnitude. She was, in fact, fucking petrified. Which didn't even make sense, honestly; Leon had been texting her every day since they’d escaped ARK, they called each other relatively frequently, and she saw him at the FBI field office less than a week ago. He wasn’t a stranger anymore, he was Leon. He was kind to her, and funny, and so ridiculously attractive that it set her teeth on edge. But, more than all that, he liked her. So, really, what's the worst that could happen?

Summary
Grace is not used to it. Leon Kennedy, unarmed. Lacking guns, hatchets, explosives and tactical gear. It’s like her brain saved a profile picture, her mental image of Leon defined by their first meeting, when he’d materialized out of nowhere and shot, shot, shot, shot the girl-creature hunting her down, then readily introduced himself like Grace didn’t owe him her life. Hell of a first impression.
This initial heroic, almost superhuman, construct of him further enables the idea that Leon is inaccessible to her. Of course he doesn’t actually want anything to do with Grace, he’s only being polite. An obligation.
She watches Leon reach over the table to pour Emily a refill of tea. Observes the muscles flexing in his tricep, his forearm, the blue veins threading under his hot skin, as he hovers the carafe over empty glass. The white clench of thick fingers.
Obscene is the only word her mind supplies.
OR:
Grace invites Leon over for a house-warming dinner. His presence gets her to realize a few things.

Grace considered if maybe they should’ve just stayed home and waited for Tron: Ares to stream on Disney+ because, as it turned out, she was wildly unprepared for the whole theater experience with Leon. The clarity it brought to their age difference—high definition, 4K laser projected, clear and undeniable—was a hard pill to swallow.
