A broken sob forced its way out, loud and raw into the silent forest.
Zoro pressed a trembling hand over his face, trying to choke it back, but his shoulders still shook against his will. The crackling dam behind his eyes burst as warm trails streaked down his cheeks.
“Oh my—Shit.” Sanji scrambled closer. “Zoro. What’s wrong?” Genuine concern laced his voice and cut straight into Zoro’s already torn heart.
“Fuckin—” Zoro’s fist collided with the dirt, the impact jolting up his arm. “Dammit!”
“H–Hey,” Sanji tried, his hands hovering uncertainly over Zoro’s shoulders.

Zoro and Sanji have some repressed emotions to work through after the battle in Wano, cue some fighting, tears, and screaming while they try to work it out.

Con su mano temblorosa, se atrevió a tocar el brazo del rubio que estaba todavía tibio, por culpa del calor que emanaba Zoro.
- Lo siento... - escuchó por fin el murmullo del espadachín que sollozaba también ocultando su rostro en el cabello dorado. - Yo... - trató de hablar, su voz estaba ronca y entrecortada. Tuvo que hacer una pequeña pausa tras apretar los dientes con tanta fuerza que le sorprendió que no se quebraran - No pude salvarlo.

An arrogant, shitty cook, who could have been quite pretty if it hadn’t been for his stupid curly eyebrows. A boy who keeps pushing everyone away, but not enough to stop Zoro from seeing himself in his bright eyes. Perhaps… perhaps the cook isn’t all that bad. And perhaps healing is even more difficult and complex than Zoro had thought.
This piece is a sequel to ‘Found among the strays’, a story that mostly focusses on Zoro&Mihawk and Mihawk/Shanks. If you want to read this without reading an almost 240K fic (+70K sequels, lol) that has no ZoSan elements at all, I wouldn’t blame ya. If that is the case, you can read the notes for a sum up of all relevant information you need to understand what is going on.
