Summary
Kenji has been a little jealous of Ben since he got so damn tall, and strong, and muscular... And somewhere along the way, that jealousy turned into admiration for Ben's bravery, and kindness, and how STRONG he is, both physically and emotionally.
So, when Ben gets impaled on that thagomizer, and Kenji is left to stay behind with him and protect him... Kenji's desperate not just to save his friend, but also to prove to the man he admires so much that Kenji is strong too.
He wants to be strong for Ben.
It takes him a minute to realize that maybe these feelings are more than just jealousy... more an admiration... more than worry for his friend... It might be love too.

Douxie was determined to hate their new drummer... Micah didn't fit the band's aesthetic; he was an American Apple Pie Texan with the attitude and appearance of a golden retriever, and when standing on stage with Douxie and Zoe, he looked painfully out of place. There were so many good reasons to hate him; He was dumb, and annoying, and surprisingly hot in a Stetson, and really muscular, and worst of all; He was mortal.
Douxie had no choice but to force himself to hate Micah, because crushing on a mortal was a fucking terrible idea.
Micah was determined to hate his new mark... Because that's all Douxie was; a mark. Nothing more. There were so many good reasons to hate him; he was rude, and selfish, and a traitor to magic creatures everywhere, and he had frustratingly pretty eyes, and he was surprisingly kind when you get to know him, and worst of all; He was the reason Micah was trapped in servitude to the Janus Order.
Micah had no choice but to hate Douxie... It was a lot easier to lie to, spy on, manipulate, and kill people you hated, after all.

Summary
Eternal youth was a much better deal before Child Protective Services became a thing. All Douxie wanted was for CPS to leave him the fuck alone, I mean, he was centuries older than every single foster parent they pawned him off on. It just felt patronizing to be treated like a child!
That is, until he met his new foster family... the Lakes.
And of course, things only get more complicated when his sweet little foster brother becomes the next Trollhunter.

After Camelot fell, Douxie and Archie set off to see the world, and to find a new place in it... but their ship wrecked, Douxie was seriously injured, and they washed up on an island. Thankfully they find people... people with dragons who don't speak English. So, to blend in, Archie transforms to look like one of their dragons! Too bad he can only do black creatures though...
Meanwhile, Hiccup and the rest of the group are all having a crisis because they just stumbled across what appears to be a fully trained Nightfury, and its half-dead rider who doesn't speak a word of Norse.

This is the worst-best day of Hiccup's life, and Douxie is just happy he's totally blending in!!!

Abruptly, Sam wonders how many people have put a friendly hand on Bucky in the last ninety-odd years. How many times did touch like this mean pain and suffering, instead of someone trying to take care of him? And it makes his heart ache, the thought of how much devastation and roughness Bucky’s been through, denied this kind of casual, compassionate touch that Sam doesn’t even think twice about offering.
Experimentally, he pulls his hand back. Bucky makes this low whining noise that makes Sam put his hand back immediately. And then he watches the way Bucky leans into it, eyelids fluttering like he’s almost falling asleep like this. Doesn’t even seem conscious of it, like he’s gone somewhere else in his head while Sam’s patching him up. And it’s – Sam doesn’t know what to think, doesn’t know what to feel. Because this is Bucky, and he’s showing such terrifying vulnerability, and Sam –
Sam can’t help but wonder if Bucky still expects pain every time someone touches him.

Reggie got fixated on things a lot. The color red. His bass. Barney the Dinosaur—it wasn’t just for kids, okay? But his fixations always ended or mellowed down into a favoritism that passed as normal. This was not fading, and it was never going to be normal.
He was starting to realize just how damaged he was.
