Summary
A lot of things change, some things don't. Vecna is gone, Hawkins is destroyed. People have died. But at least it's over now, right?
Trying to create a new "normal" comes with undeniable realizations of what has truly never changed through it all.
Or, season 5 at least the finale- can take a hike. This is a Stancy fic, fight me on it. If you love Jancy at least take small comfort that I don't make Jonathan a total piece of shit.

Summary
Following the destruction of Vecna (and the effects of the Gate merging with Hawkins), the town is left not only scarred by fissures but by a creeping illness.

It’s the middle of the night, a red glow is filtering through the curtains, and Nancy once again finds herself naked in Steve Harrington’s bed, watching him leave.
He’s sat at the end of the mattress, leaning to pull on his discarded socks, his shirt still missing in the rubble of the evening’s activities. If he knows she’s awake, he doesn’t acknowledge it, which leaves Nancy to stare at the expanse of his back- at the freckles she can spot even in the dark, and the angry marks she’s left against his shoulder blades.
The sight isn’t unfamiliar.Steve never sticks around for long these days. And wishing he would stay is a solitary, selfish pastime of Nancy’s.
