Dear Diary,
Hello again. Am I too old to lead with ‘Dear Diary’? Today, I’m feeling young. I’m feeling vulnerable and embarrassed and raw and open and sad. I asked him. And he said friends. He said “friends”, actually he yelled it. This is possibly the worst day of my entire life and yes I mean that no I’m not just being emotional future me, if you’re re-reading this, TODAY IS THE WORST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. It doesn’t get any worse than this, right here, so go ahead and live it up! That’s right. It can only get better from here. Grow your hair, wear a skirt, scream in public, whatever the hell because one day, you’re gonna die. And nothing will matter at all. Congratulations. Today is the worst day you’ll ever have. EVER!!!

“So,” Mike starts, drawing out the word, and Will turns to him. “Any ideas on how to spend the next fifteen minutes?”
It’s teasing, suggestive when he wiggles his eyebrows, and it’s so unexpected that Will lets out a surprised laugh, unabashed, and it’s so easy, how the tension falls away, and it’s only them again.
“You’re ridiculous,” Will shakes his head, smiling, but Mike looks proud of himself anyway.
He points out, “I don’t hear you complaining.”
Will scoffs, nudging at him with an elbow. “Whatever,” he smoothly replies. Mike grins.
Will, Mike, and the numerous attempts at their first kiss.
