Summary
Shen Yuan twirled his fan in his hand. What was he going to do? His older brother was going to throttle him. Shen Jiu specifically told him to stay away from the Imperial Palace. The imperial majesties were fickle and dangerous, and somehow Shen Yuan had the misfortune of catching the eye of perhaps the most dangerous one of all, First Prince Luo Binghe!
Luckily, his older brother had left for the Northern Provinces two months ago. Maybe he'd never learn how careless Shen Yuan had been.
Shen Yuan wasn’t sure when Shen Jiu would be back. His older brother had been vague about the specifics, not wanting Shen Yuan to compromise his covert mission – not that he would! Even still, Shen Jiu's alliance with a powerful cultivator from the Kingdom of Five Sects made him uneasy.
During his older brother's absence, Shen Yuan's main job was to lay low, stay safe, and remain diligent with his scent canceling soaps and suppressants.
Above all, Shen Yuan was to stay away from the Imperial Palace.

Summary
After dying while cursing at the last trash novel he read, Shen Yuan found himself transmigrated to said novel. As what you may ask? The protagonist? The scum villain? NO! He’s a nobody NPC born from the Warm Red Pavilion. Even worst he’s an orphan…with debt. So much debt. Mother why did you leave your child with such a burden.
What’s a man in a child’s body to do? What else, but use all the knowledge of his previous life to survive. Useful details from the original novel, some personal skills, as well as any song he could remember. Selling his body was out of the question but becoming an entertainer. He could work with that.
It was the perfect plan but…
WHY DO ALL THESE IMPORTANT CHARACTERS KEEP COMING TO HIS DOOR!
Please leave this poor NPC out of this horrendous plot. He’s just trying to make ends meat here.
AU: where Yuan becomes the top musician in the Warm Red Pavilion and attracts an unlikely audience: the scum villain, a war god, high ranking demons, a feisty cultivator, a hamster and co. They better pay him handsomely for dealing with all this crap.
