Summary
That’s the start of Juwon’s letters.
He begins them in bold, unornamented calligraphy, the large characters flowing from his pen as if by machine. The messages he writes are varied, and mostly meaningless. He writes about the cavernous love he feels. He writes about how Dongsik appears to him on any given day: beautiful and lonely, an unmoored boat on a tumultuous wave.
Sometimes, Juwon copies poems from his phone: love sonnets, or ballads with misplaced sentiment. Sometimes, he writes about how angry he is. Sometimes, he writes his jumbled thoughts, spur-of-the-moment. He always signs the letter, ‘Yours,’ and seals the envelopes.

Sam wakes up in a puddle of his own slick and immediately starts cussing out the universe. His heat tracking app said he wasn’t due for another week, but like how everything in his less-than-normal life has treated him, it seems, the universe just loves taking Sam’s expectations and hurling them into the goddamn Sun.
It shouldn't be as hard as it is, crawling off his bed and stumbling into his bathroom to rip open his medicine chest and search for his suppressants. Only it is because the bottle he normally keeps on the second shelf behind his reservoir of first aid supplies is gone. Like, not even on the first or third shelf, or anywhere in his bathroom, type of gone. It’s gone gone. Disappeared from existence. No little orange bottle with ‘SAM’ plastered on the side anywhere to be found, just a pink sticky note that fell behind his toilet with nothing but a single word, signed by a single letter.

Despite what many may say, scenting is the most important aspect among the different subgenders. Everything else, from mating bites to knotting, feeds back into the ability to smell and scent others. Omegas will tend to have mild to strong scents, but in return, they also have stronger, more sensitive noses than the other subgenders. Alphas have the inverse, strong scents and somewhat weak noses. Betas, betas have both negatives. The idea is that an omega will find the perfect mate, preferably an alpha, with their nose, and the alpha's weak nose will be attuned to only them. It’s not all that researched, for a variety of reasons, but all this to say, an alpha should not have their nose attuned to a beta’s scent.
Bucky Barnes, an alpha, has once again broken these rules.

Sam always sort of thought the end of the world would be a). some sort of alien invasion again and b). something he could at least attempt to stop. But when the newest apocalypse comes in the form of a nuclear warhead, he can't exactly fly over to whoever sent it and say "Hey, asshole, haven't you ever seen War Games?" Especially when nobody's really sure who sent it.
So what does he do about it, as Captain America? There's not exactly a rulebook, but it turns out it involves ferrying President Asshole and his cartoonishly-evil Secretary of Defense through the Maryland wilderness while trying to keep his own friends alive despite their best attempts to get themselves killed.
It also involves a fair amount of pining, because he's started to notice that his best friend looks unfairly attractive when sweaty, bloody, and fresh from a helicopter crash...

Sam blinks again, then starts to laugh. “Shit. Well, I guess we’ll have to file for annulment.”
And maybe it’s the leftover buzz of the alcohol, or maybe it’s the way that Sam has started to feel like safety to him, but something makes Bucky blurt it out; he clears his throat and says, “Yeah, or we could just stay married.”
