Summary
Jake finds out the Legion are more human than he first thought. Now he's determined to find out what that means, even if he has to go to the enemy for answers. He's always been adept at survival, but there are a lot of enemies in the fog and the rules work much differently outside of the trials.
Frank is used to having the upper hand. He's a rogue, a leader, a cold-blooded murderer and he'll make damn sure that respect is put on his name. So when a smart-mouthed punk shows up demanding answers, all Frank wants to do is teach him a very sharp, very painful lesson.
Unfortunately for them both, Jake Park doesn't know when to give up.

Jake finds a small, friendly version of the Dredge in a trial against the Trickster. He takes it upon himself to watch over the oddly adorable little creature, but actions have consequences. In this world of fight or flight, Jake will have to adapt to new circumstances as they come or risk falling apart entirely.

The Legion are setting up for their yearly holiday tradition of hanging out at the Ormond resort, spending the holidays together in a way they never got to experience apart. Everything is going well until a little black fox sneaks in and starts causing a mess.
Which wouldn't be a problem, except that this particular fox just happens to be a spirit whose human form is exactly Frank's type.

To be a Legend is to be remembered, to have your story be told and shared for all to see. The Legend of the Ghost of Roseville brought simultaneous fear and comfort to the people who heard of his murders, making a man who did horrible things into a myth, a monster lurking in the shadows. But the man was real, the man was human and he experienced life like anyone else. Taken by a cosmic being after absconding from his recent spree in North Roseville, Daniel Johnson has to cope with a world that not only doesn't know or care for his past, but expects him to adjust to a standard leagues different than the stalking and story-crafting he's used to.

“Pest,” Evan snarls, and lifts him out of the alcove by the back of his jacket. It’s more familiar than he’d like, the way he falls into Evan. Drapes over his shoulder and purrs. The snarl fades away as Evan hauls him toward the manor. Evan’s not always in the mood to mess around— Jake’s learned that through trial and error.
