Summary
Peter is running out of time. It’s a scary concept and idea that plants horror after horror that leaves Peter shaking and crying. His head hurts, and so does his body, but what hurts the most is his heart. If he could go back in time, he would’ve enjoyed everything so much more. He would’ve enjoyed all the good memories of being held and laughing and just being happy overall.
He misses being held, desperately. He’s confined to a hospital bed with wires and tubes all over him that makes him afraid to move because what if he pulls something out and he hurts himself badly. It’s so goddamn scary. When people talk about cancer, they talk about the fear and the tears, but actually living through it as the finality to your life, it’s a whole other level of scary.

He just wanted stronger webs! That’s it! And now Tony knows that Peter actually prefers Steve’s cooking over his own, and is vehemently offended by the fact.
“You said you liked the casserole!” Tony exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. Peter groans, putting his head in his hands and trying to bite his tongue, but the words fall out anyways:
“I lied, okay? Steve is good at improvising with your random, bougie ingredients, you’re not!”

Peter’s breath hitched as he stared at the crumpled figure on the ground.
Tony Stark wasn’t moving.
The arc reactor in his chest flickered weakly, sending out uneven pulses of light, illuminating the smudges of dirt and streaks of blood on his armor. His helmet had been knocked off somewhere in the fight, leaving his face bare, slack, too still. His body lay at an awkward angle, like a puppet with its strings cut.
Peter’s stomach churned violently.
He had seen Tony take hits before. Had watched him crash into buildings, slam into the pavement, walk away from things no human should be able to. But this—this wasn’t like those times. The suit wasn’t humming with power, his hands weren’t twitching as he tried to push himself up, and he wasn’t throwing out some half-assed quip to let everyone know he was still breathing.
Because he wasn’t.
Or, when Peter snaps and almost kills somebody, bouncing back is not going to be easy. Healing takes time, and sometimes a kindred soul.

He could still remember it, Thanos and his army had bombed the facility. they were fighting, and fighting, and he just wanted it to be over.
But then he saw him, a fifteen year old boy with way too much energy, he’d swung by something Tony couldn’t imagine, he was just so happy.
Peter had tried to explain what he’d experienced, but Tony wasn’t listening.
“Uh huh..” he had mumbled, shaking his head, “hold me.” Tony said, quietly as he held Peter by the shoulder and pulled him in for a hug. He was so glad to see his kid.
And then, they had to fight again. And he remembered getting hold of the gauntlet, then he dropped the iconic lines of “i am ironman.” -- a personal favorite. And then- oh.
He was dead.
OR
Tony Stark wakes up from the dead --like some sort of zombie-- after a whole year after the snap. only to find that everyone doesn't remember his s- Peter Parker. and he's determined to know why.

Tony looks up to him, and--oh. He looks past Steve before turning to stare at the wall next to him, wiping the tears off of his face with the back of his hand as he stands. He falls against Steve when he tries to walk past him. Steve says his name again, but Tony just stares at his shaking hands as he tries to brush off the dust no longer there.
“I’m...” Tony’s voice breaks. Steve cannot stop himself as he takes the smaller man’s hands in his own. Tony leans forward and the soldier loses all sense of control and pulls him into a strong embrace. He tries to comfort the broken man in arms, but all of his rehearsed apologies start to suffocate him.
“God, Tony. I know.”
