Summary
The scene in the kitchen doesn’t leave Lian alone for the entire week. Not that she’s disturbed by it, maybe a little distraught at most. Surprised? Maybe, even if she probably shouldn’t be. After all, she knew about her dad’s questionable taste in people – take her mom, for example – but, like, Red Hood? Seriously?
And what if she had walked in on them just a few moments later? That would’ve earned her a whole new trauma and probably made her unable to look her dad in the eye for the rest of her life.

Shoes was helping herself to the parts of a motorcycle that was way too nice to be left unattended at night in this part of town. It was sure to be a decent pay out, until she heard the stupid robot voice call out from behind her, “You know, this is like some fucked-up, backwards deja vu for me.”
She tensed for a moment but didn’t bother turning to see the Red Hood there. At some point after the big bad crime boss started giving her tips on how to get away with stealing or offering her his fucking jacket in the cold, he started to lose his edge of intimidation. Instead she focused on removing the back tire of the bike and saying, “This is just some routine maintenance.”
