His eyes stayed on the corner where the white light glowed, unwavering and unwilling to look away from the danger.
The danger.
The danger that was a boy with no legs who glowed white.
The danger that had eyes that shone green.
A bright, illuminating green that pierced through the dark and emanated the promise of blood and pain. The green that had taken over his entire vision at Titans Tower and brought out the rawest, most broken-down parts of him. The green that had belonged to his personal torturer who slit his throat and left him for dead.
And it was slowly approaching him, inching closer and closer at a sickeningly slow pace, playing with him, toying with him.

Summary
On paper, it made sense. He couldn’t go to the police. The scandal would ruin Drake Industries. Tim didn’t particularly care about that, but his parents did, and he had a vested interest in keeping them happy and out of the country. He couldn’t go to Batman, either. While he was the placeholder Robin, he was going to hold onto the position as long as he could. That left crime, of course. All that to say, Tim now had a full time summer internship (with competitive pay!), helping Red Hood take down Drake Industries’ brand new, highly lucrative drug operation.

"Hey," Robin said softly. "It's okay."
It wasn't. It wasn't okay. Tim ruined everything. Now Robin was going to think that he was weird. His (hopeful) future interactions would be tainted. Tim could never see Robin in the eye again.
Tears welled up in his eyes and his throat closed in on itself. He stumbled backwards, his heart beating quick and hard against his ribs.
"Hey. Kid, you okay?” Robin looked at him worriedly. “Please don’t cry. I promise it’s okay.”
Tim mutely shook his head. He curled into himself, gripping the side of his arms tightly, trying to remember what it was like to breathe, cheeks burning hot with shame.
He was an embarrassment.

They were in the middle of fighting robbers when it happened.
Tim had felt under the weather ever since rescuing Stephanie from the evil clutches of going to school while sick. He'd expected to get sick soon after, but maybe not to this degree. He had warned Bruce he wasn't well and Bruce had made a weak attempt at benching him, only for Tim to insist he was fine.
Turns out, Tim realised after vomiting in front of Batman and the remaining robbers, he was not fine.
