Summary
Dingy yellow walls, a damp dull carpet floor. Adam never asked to end up in these "Backrooms", wandering around without a solid goal, slowly losing his mind.
At least if he's going to lose his mind, he's not going to lose it alone. His new younger brother gives him hope and a reason to survive, and as others join up, Adam recognizes that he and his new friends may have a real chance to go through hell and make it out alive.
His first priority, however, is to protect Kai from these strangers he doesn't know and doesn't trust, in a twisted and hollow world he knows and trusts even less.

Adam has been asleep for a long, long time. He's finally woken up from his deep slumber after an assault from the Ishibo, but what he wakes up to is not what he expected.
He should be in the showroom with his other teammates, gracefully accepting their defeat and watching Vanessa's team traverse the rest of the map. So why is he still in The Hollow? Why is everyone old? And where on earth is Kai?
There's so many questions in Adam's head, but it seems like the people he once knew as teenagers won't bother to answer half of them as adults. Maybe Mira and Skeet's child and their friends can help him?

Summary
Harvey Hollow wasn't much different than the stereotypical 1950s American town--- Idyllic, peaceful, and happy. Adam only wished he belonged there. Sure, he was accepted by his peers and had a good life, but he'd never truly been typical. What made him feel especially weird? That big secret he kept hidden from everyone, even his own parents.
At the prompting of his eccentric friend Mira, Adam joins the new after-school Storytelling Club. He, Mira, and an oddball named Kai begin to meet in the park, forming a strong bond. And the stronger his bond grows with them, the more the park begins to feel like home. Adam begins to think that maybe, he's found a place he truly belongs.
(TL;DR, The Hollow characters, but they live in 1950s America instead of near-future Canada. Three confused teens find family in one another.)

Skeet was dead. That much was certain. They'd all seen the body--- there was no doubt that he was dead. They'd buried him and said their goodbyes, then left his grave behind. Mira was moving on with her life, as much as she missed her old friend. But then the unexpected showed up at her front door and turned her world upside down once again.

In a world where a mutant virus has turned a majority of North America's population into zombies and a small percentage of the rest into superhumans, Adam is a lone ranger, going from town to town, fighting zombies and helping out whoever he can. But it's a lonely life, as the young traveler doesn't allow himself to get too close to anyone.
But after nearly losing to a horde larger and stronger than he'd ever faced before, Adam finds himself in the company of two teens--- Mira, a girl with the ability to heal small wounds, and Kai, a powerful fire wielder. Adam knows he can't go on like he is forever. Maybe it's finally time to let someone else in.

Summary
The Hollow is over--- and as Adam, Mira and Kai try to go back to how their lives were before they got into the game, each teen finds out that it may be harder than they thought it was going to be. Not that any of them thought it was going to be easy.
But handling homework, fresh outlooks, and newfound fame may prove to be the least of their problems, as Kai continues to see visual glitches and Adam begins having strange dreams about the game that leave him sleepless. Is it for real? Some unforseen side effect of the Hollow's level of virtual tech? Or is it something... else?
And most importantly--- will it make or break the trio?
