Summary
You were feeling pretty grumpy when you got home. The dark house didn’t make you feel much better. Like, it was fine. It was fine. Shane went to bed before you got back and whatever. Sometimes people get tired. No big deal.
You dropped your bag, opened the door to the bedroom. Yup. There he was. Snoozing away without a care in the world. Flopped on his back, his t-shirt riding up over his hairy belly, boxer-clad legs splayed. He looked warm and comfortable and like just what you needed to work off a little frustration.

Summary
Shane couldn't help but feel a little guilty like he was another project for you to take care of. He didn’t want to be someone’s charity case and didn’t want to be fixed because he felt too broken to be worth the effort. But there was something about you that made it hard to resist. Maybe it was the genuine concern in your eyes or the way you never gave up on him, even when he pushed you away.
Maybe that's why he would drag himself into bed after a long day, his mind drowning in worries, fears, alcohol, and guilt. His thoughts would seek out the comfort of you—your smile, your laughter.
After work tonight, Shane made his way to the Saloon, seeking solace at the bottom of a glass, as usual. He hoped the alcohol would drown his persistent thoughts of you, allowing him to escape his troubles for a while.

Written from a Tumblr prompt: inspired by the briefing scene in the Gone Fishing Job... a piece abt someone realising that the only kind of physical contact Eliot has had lately is the violent kind, & setting things right by being oh so gentle with him.
Or: Eliot doesn't have enough softness in his life and you try to make up for it in some small ways, not realising that you'll set off a spark in him that wants so much more, but that he holds back until Damien Moreau is no longer hanging over the team's heads. Pretty angsty, but also super fluffy.
