Summary
Zoro’s hand splayed out across his back, the fingers digging in just a little deeper. He could feel the heat of Zoro’s body, telling him the man had stepped closer to him even if he wasn’t quite touching him. A shiver went down his spine as he felt Zoro’s hot breath brush against his ear.
“Just a couple of hours, Cook. You survive this dinner and then we can go back to your room and I’ll have you all to myself. I’ll make you forget whatever bullshit they put in your head this time.”
Or, Sanji's family delight in tearing him apart but Zoro makes it his mission to put him back together.

Sanji held his hand out. He didn’t really want to touch the hand of the guy who had been delving into his pipes, extracting what could be called a biohazard but, Sanji was polite when he had to be, especially given their anger-filled start.
Their hands connected, Sanji looked at the other man, Zoro. He was about an inch shorter than him but his sheer bulk made him look so much taller. At the same time, Zoro looked at him….his eye was a lovely silver colour. Deep, intuitive….staring right at him, right into him. Sanji felt his cheeks heat up. His palms getting sweaty. He had been in a couple of….situations….in the few years that he had been single. None of them lasted more than an evening and certainly none happened at his own home. And yet, none of these had the intensity of a full night of fucking than Zoro just staring into his eyes. He felt slightly giddy. His legs felt weak as his gut whirled with arousal and lightning….like he was being shocked to his very core.

Sanji and Zoro get into a fight. (What’s new?)
What they don’t expect is the villages Devil fruit user to intervene and blast them with some kind of energy beam.
Positive Pablo the rest of the villagers call him, but how come they were un-harmed? And why can Sanji now hear every nice thing Zoro thinks and feels about him whenever they’re near one another? Every warm emotion, every pleasant passing thought about him- and… compliments.
Sanji just thinks he’s lucky Zoro can’t hear his thoughts, because quite frankly, his head is in shambles over the Swordsman thanks to one of the first throw away thoughts on Zoros behalf and Franky’s fucking filthy comment.
He’s in for one hell of a shock. Hell so is Zoro… especially when someone from his past resurfaces, just to top things off.
And the next island? Well they arrive just in time for the festivities of a pirate long past, his essence so strong his spirit returns every year to stir up mischief and chaos all the while playing matchmaker. Sanji is starting to think the past week has been some sort of elaborate prank, and this is just the icing on the cake.

It's all too common a scene - Sanji can only admit he wants Zoro when he's drunk, Zoro has to grapple with knowing he and Sanji could be so happy if only Sanji could bring himself to be honest when they're both sober, and in the morning he has to deal with things going back just the way they were without hope of any resolution between them, sexual or otherwise.
Except this time it's the morning-after and Sanji is dropping heavy hints he remembers EXACTLY what happened between them during their last drunken rendezvous-
Except EXCEPT they didn't actually manage to DO anything, so what the hell is it that Sanji remembers?Aka. "it's sexy when Sanji has to - or chooses to - vocalise what he wants before he can get it", the fic. What was originally PWP that ran away from me and now covers Sanji's load-bearing heterosexuality (self-inflicted), character introspection for he and Zoro both, and a burgeoning romance. Complete but may be expanded on.
