Those who inspired this know who they are. Thank you; sorry for the delay in fussing over and finally posting. This is definitely my second favourite ship but I'd never been brave enough to try writing them. Inevitably, as you'll see, there are some signature elements to my fics that I couldn't and didn't really want to escape here. When you're writing from a heart that has yearned for years for this kind of happiness, it's difficult to, to paraphrase John Peel, "expunge the dangerous bits of melody."
Extensive readers in these fandoms will recognize a couple of little tribute phrases that have been dropped in from some of my oldest and most beloved fics. Btw there's no Forster. That's purely for gramon. It's assumed that all the characters are happily and actively bisexual. As always, this is a work of imagination. I have no ownership of the subjects.

A delightful piece, truly, by a magnificent yet pitiful character, a caged bird that had ripped its life apart for the songs that it desired to sing. Yet so utterly merry, a fugue of elation, a fugue of content, of a simple joy repeated over, and over, and over. Overcomplicated, simplified, then overcomplicated with the beauty of the noise all around.
Mikhail must be a fugue, too.
