Summary
Moving to Pelican Town should have been a fresh start. But it won't be. People like Shane didn't get fresh starts. They did the same thing over and over and over until they died. There would be no moment of clarity, no breath of fresh air, no sign from Yoba to get his shit together. Every day, exactly the same.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Summary
Morgott stares at the sword, the realization of what it is sinking in. And the significance of it is not lost on him. A Carian engagement sword. A symbol of commitment and devotion between partners. A symbol of bond and loyalty, of a marriage that goes beyond mere obligation.
Everything their marriage is not.

Summary
How does one define a relationship of constant companionship? What kind of label do you put on a situation like that? When two people spend every moment together, waking up in the same bed, traveling the wastelands side by side, tending to each other's wounds, bathing together, kissing, cuddling. There's a label for that, surely.
Thaddeus calls it friendship.

Summary
Thaddeus never expected to find himself a deserter. He never expected himself to be counting down the days until his skin began to rot away or his nose to fall off. He never expected to find himself huddled behind a blown out Corvega on some desolate road in the Boneyard. And he certainly never expected to be rescued by some self proclaimed Ranger of the West.
Something about Nixon Sharma didn't sit quite right with the former squire.

Summary
"How often do you feel… like that?"
"Quite often," Kain replies, stealing the cigarette from his hand and taking a drag off of it before handing it back. She gives him a sad smile. "I feel lonely much more often than I should."
In another lifetime, he repeats to himself. In another lifetime he would tell her. He would tell her she isn't alone, that it isn't her fault she feels this way. He would explain that there are forces out there that want her to feel so isolated. Perhaps he could tell her right then and there, help her the same way he had that woman in Italy or that nurse last year. In another lifetime, he would have already explained everything to her. But not tonight, he tells himself. Tonight, we would settle for something a little more personal and a little less earth shattering.
"I feel like that all the time."

Summary
They’re not together because how the fuck do you date someone who so fundamentally understands you that you’re basically the same person? Alt was right when she said that Johnny's personality construct was corrupted beyond recognition. Hellman had even told V that one day she wouldn’t recognize herself because of him. They’d blended so much in the short time they shared a body and now that they occupied different spaces, it still felt like they were one.
So yeah, they're not together but they're never apart.

Summary
Charon knows that Lone likes to watch him hurt anyone who dares touch her. She likes it almost as much as she enjoys singing his praises. And maybe the two are one in the same. That look of admiration and the sweet song of her piety. Either way, it stirs something inside of him that he once thought long dead. Knowing that when she sees him, she doesn't see a monster but instead her lover. Someone who can make her feel good and protect her. It drives him absolutely wild.

Summary
V still calls that apartment in Night City her home. The one on the eighth floor of Megabuilding H10. The one that made the world feel empty save for the two of them. The one where she'd met him, truly met him, the first time. Where he had played guitar and she had laughed. Where he no longer could be and she had cried. The same apartment where he had told her that she would live and where she had been fine to die. Fine so long as she died with him.

Summary
"How dare that absolute riika look at you like that," she grumbled angrily, her eyes traveling along the tiefling’s face.
"Tinessi, are you jealous?" The question left him slowly, a smirk worming it's way across his face as she practically ripped the robes from his shoulders.
"I am not jealous," she lied. Her eyes flickered up to meet his for a moment, and then she huffed slightly. "Fine, I am jealous. But did you see the way she was looking at you? Fucking pompous. Like you were some pretty little thing she could put up on her mantle."
"We need to make connections," Rolan said softly, taking her hands in his. "Stop. Think about what you’re doing. Do you believe that us sneaking off for… this is going to help the business?"
"No," Tinessi shook her head, pulling him by the hand to stand in front of one of the chairs near the back of the room. The mage looked down, flushing an even deeper red as she roughly undid the laces of his trousers and pulling them down before pushing him back onto the chair. "But I honestly don't care about that right now."

Summary
“Don't worry, pretty man, I’ll protect you from the big bad highwaymen while you lie in bed and recover,” Tinessi indulged in her desire and tucked one of the loose locks behind his ear. He balked at her, mouth slightly open and again she admired his face.
“I am not sick,” he huffed, pushing past her. Knowing she shouldn't, she laughed at his embarrassment.
Really should have kissed him last night, she told herself. It wasn't a thought she had often. In fact, she couldn't remember really ever having the desire. But the mage was so easy to work up that had she done it, she knew he would have spit and sputtered at her boldness.
--
This is a retelling of Days Before Shadow but from Tinessi's POV since no story in the entire Tinessi Ilphelkiir series is told from her persepective. Some chapters will be rewrites and some chapters will be entirely new situations.

Summary
"Excuse me for wanting some reassurance for whatever… this is."
"Was kind of hoping us sleeping together and me losing my bet with Lia would be enough for you," Tinessi shrugged before pulling the book closer to her face. Her eyes widened, a blush overtaking her features. It was then Rolan noticed what book she was holding.
"It's not what you think-"
"Have you been reading smut?"

Summary
Once upon a time, Rolan had thought himself cursed. Growing up alone in the streets of Elturel, abandoned by parents who couldn't stand having a tiefling for a son, had made him believe he was never meant for more than an unremarkable and early death.
Years spent with Cal and Lia had lessened the thought but it never fully left him.
But when Elturel descended into the Hells itself, he had believed himself cursed. Why else would the gods choose to rip away the home he'd fought so hard to create?
Yet he'd found hope in the form of an apprenticeship and told himself he wasn't cursed. All he had to do was make it Baldur’s Gate.
But then long days and cold nights had nearly killed him. The road to Baldur’s Gate had nearly cost his life and that of his siblings. It had taken friends and destroyed families. It had forced him to face truths in himself that he had never wanted to know.
It had given him something too. Hope in the form of a young and beautiful half-elf that threatened to be the end of his sanity.
Rolan was waiting for the next but.

Summary
“It would mean setting off on another adventure together,” Astarion said, watching them closely. He opened his mouth to continue but paused, swallowing thickly. He shook his head as he took their hands and rested them in his lap before murmuring, “Is that what you want? Is this what you want?”
Tavares stilled for a second, unable to understand what he was asking. They had been through hell and back, had taken on countless enemies and faced down unimaginable horrors together. It made no sense that the rogue would still have doubts.
“I would understand if you wanted to go your own way,” he added when he didn't receive a response.
Still, Tavares couldn't bring themself to say anything. They stood, walking over to the desk in the room and sat on its edge to steady themself. The notion that they wouldn’t want to be with him after everything they had done, everything that they’d sacrificed, was laughable. But Tav wasn't laughing. They weren't doing anything. Astarion stood to move towards them, a look of panic overtaking him.
“Tavares.”

Summary
Tavares eyed their sister between star gazing. When they first met her, they couldn't believe she existed. Finally, they'd found family that actually cared for them despite what they were. They didn't care that they weren't a man or woman, only cared that they were family.
It was an odd feeling. To be loved without expectations. Before Tinessi or Astarion, the sorcerer couldn't remember a time when it was even a possibility. And yet here among what could very well be the last days for Faerûn, they'd found just that.

Summary
It was supposed to be innocent, a sweet date to celebrate their victory and their reunion. Lorroakan was gone, and as his only remaining apprentice, Ramazith Tower was his. He had just wanted to show the half-elf what he had to offer her now.
But Tinessi was… Tinessi. She didn't care about her nobility or wealth. Didn't care that he now had the money to secure their future. Didn't care about the gold or power that came with such things. She only cared about him.
Rolan wouldn't have her any other way.

Summary
“Did you think it wasn't obvious?” He asked, waving a hand about. “Maybe not to the others but I’m well versed in the Weave. You’re obviously not a sorcerer and you lack the… skills to be a wizard. Plus, I can practically smell the Archfey on you. Zybilna was the name you invoked, right? Lady of the Carnival?”
“Y-you’re…” the young half-elf seemed at a loss for words, for once. Rolan smiled smugly at her, a feeling of triumph washing over him. It turned sour quickly as he watched her face twist into a delighted smile. “You’re clever.”
Watching her closely, the mage leaned back as she leaned forward. She hovered over him uncomfortably close and he felt her warm breath on his face. The smell of nutmeg, spiced honey, and amber overtook his senses as his eyes flickered between her soft spring green and coral pink eyes.
“I like you,” she purred mischievously. “I’m Tinessi, by the way.”
