Summary
Mihawk is a Redeemer of the Holy Church, terrifying and powerful. He has spent almost the entirety of his life tracking down and eradicating demons and heathens and people living in the murkiness in between. When the Holy First himself commands Mihawk to find and kill Shanks, an unrepentant sinner whose strength rivals the Church, Mihawk accepts the divine orders despite their strange circumstances.
However, Shanks is not so easy to label a heathen or a devil. Meeting him opens far more doors than it closes in Mihawk's mind, especially when the two are forced to work together to confront another formidable threat. Mihawk starts to wonder about the Church, their morals, his life's purpose... about the man with the red hair and the devilish smile who is no devil at all.

Summary
There is very little that Mihawk fears losing. Yoru, for one. His strength, for another. There is a person who could be listed, but Shanks is too big a word to easily fit in a catalogue such as this. When all three start slipping away, Mihawk struggles to know which he'll reach for first.
Or if reaching for one will force the other two further from his hands.

Summary
So close to Shanks, Mihawk can feel it all; the weave of desire and anger, grief and want. Other emotions more precarious, voracious, things he doesn't have a word for. Those unnamed feelings are at least in part why Mihawk still doesn't know what he's doing here. He doesn’t like uncertainty inside himself. The world can do what it wants, but he was supposed to have found a way to silence all the tumult in his chest years ago. A sword to slice and a sword to silence, paralleling each other.

Some needs that can’t be met. And when Hoseok enters a club and hears the music of the man he left so long ago, he realizes that some addictions can’t be healed by anything as simple as time.

Roger used to swear by the ache in his bones, but for him, it was a tightness in his lungs, like he couldn’t draw a full breath. The feeling had been growing for a while, and there was something about the damp, cold wind burrowing past the surface warmth of the alcohol that gave a name to his fear and made it real.
