Summary
It seemed unfair that even after all these years - and giving birth only some eight or nine months ago - JJ found new ways to stun. Her hair was darker than it had been when Emily left, styled differently so it fell around her shoulders in long, beachy waves. In the years since Emily had moved to London, something in JJ’s entire demeanour had shifted, that softness about her smoothing out into ropey muscle and squared shoulders. She even dressed differently. That she could have changed so much in so few years always had Emily faltering, even though she knew that beneath it all JJ was still very much the same. If anything, she’d grown into herself, flourishing, developing into the freight train of a woman Emily had seen beneath the young, soft exterior when they first met.
Good for her, Emily had initially thought, but then, letting her gaze drift over toned muscle, the vague outline of abs that were even visible through her newer, tighter wardrobe, fuck.
Or, Emily always shows up when JJ needs her most.
