Summary
Divorced Steve was having a hard enough time trying to keep his head held high while Tommy insisted on parading his new younger wife Carol all over town. Tommy never prioritized their daughter Max and that was never more obvious than when he skipped out on a trip he paid for. Yet again, Steve was there to pick up the pieces and chauffeur Max and the rest of The Party to see their favorite band.
Corroded Coffin, while riding the high of their album, found themselves on the main stage of Coachella. Eddie Munson was used to people saying his name with disdain, but now with practically overnight success his name is called with love and adoration. While Eddie was finally able to achieve his dream, he couldn’t help but feel like something was missing.
A simple miscommunication about a trailer leads Eddie to the omega of his dreams when he literally crashes into Steve before they hit the stage. Will their 16 year age gap be too much for their whirlwind romance? Will real life rear its ugly head and ruin everything? Is this forever or will he just fall for the idea of you?

She’s quiet for a minute, then, “you coming to Hellfire?”
“Pretty sure I won’t be wanted.”
Robin bumps him with her shoulder, “Henderson loves you, and so does Jane. Lucas has a weird hero worship thing going on. Even Mike is warming up to you, kinda’. I know for a fact Max likes you.”
“Max is horrible to me literally every chance she gets.”
“Yeap, that’s how I know, it’s how she shows affection” Steve eyes her speculatively, “it’s true, I swear, if she didn’t like you, she wouldn’t waste the energy even trying to talk to you.”
Steve sighs because, strangely, that is true.

Steve frowned. “Uh, no, but your band played in the middle school talent show, it’s pretty hard to forget a thirteen year old screaming death metal before his voice dropped.”
Eddie almost laughed at that. Almost. “You saying I’m unforgettable, princess?”

Eddie realized this was turning towards something far more dangerous than taunting a boy known for getting into fights, like flirting with a very, very straight boy known for getting into fights.

Summary
In the aftermath of Vecna Eddie can't seem to stop himself flirting with Steve. In the space of a single conversation he's told the guy to keep the jacket, compared himself to a fair maiden, and fucking winked apparently! Surely there's still some monsters left so he can fling himself into the upside-down and not have to face how embarassing he's being.
Steve is certain that all the feelings he's been having about Eddie are platonic with a captial P. True, he can't stop looking at the guy, and touching him, and thinking about how pretty he is and how soft his hair looks- But that's all totally normal friend stuff. Totally, completely, normal.
A fic exploring how the aftermath of vol. 2 could have gone had Vecna been defeated a few minutes earlier. Featuring Eddie's disaster flirting, The Jacket, Steve and Robin playing detective about Steve's sexuality, a Bi-awakening, Steve and Eddie co-parenting six children, and everyone else's reactions to the whole mess.
