Summary
Klaus is not a bad person compared to the Earth's entire population, he is not even a bad person compared to everyone in the Hargreeves family (it would be hard to top Dad); but compared to Ben, he is the worst person in existence. Compared to Ben, he is an idiot. Compared to Ben, he is a failure.
To fall is a relative term and when his family looks at their (very limited and isolated) time with Ben and at their time knowing Klaus… it is clear who has fallen from grace and who has risen to greatness.
It is clear that, relatively, he could have done so much better.
OR
"I heard a rumor," He desperately tries to cover his ears but it's to no avail; his irises slip into a milky white, "that you do whatever Ben tells you to do."

The first was that ghosts can time travel. The second: Ben's not the only ghostie who can cling on for a ride.
And the third? The third thing that Klaus had learned in 1963, he had discovered a month after landing, and rediscovered every day since. He had learned that ghosts, if they're motivated enough, can invade his body and make their home there. And they never leave.
