“What plan…” was all Enid got out before several things happened in quick succession.
Thing dropped from the air vent and gave Wednesday a thumbs up before scurrying under the bed.
Wednesday grabbed Enid’s face and kissed her on the lips.
The door to dorm flung open and an angry Weems stormed in. “I swear to god Addams, if I get one more noise complaint I… oh my.”

Enid opened her mouth, however, before she got to ask Wednesday how her day had been, Wednesday’s hands found her waist, drawing her in, and then she surprised both of them when Wednesday leaned in and kissed Enid.
And not like they kissed usually, during sex. No, this was neither desperate, nor heated. Just like—Hello. Like Wednesday was her girlfriend, seeing Enid for the first time in a week. Almost like this was something normal, people with no-strings arrangements did.
