Dmitri's still staring, hard to read as ever, and Hopper wonders how open the Russian will be with him. This isn't neutral ground. The prison, both of them inmates, that was. Now Hopper is the one who can go home at the end of a day, while Dmitri's in a sort of cell, even if it has a door with a handle, a shower and heating.
After some deliberation, he swallows heavily and his shoulders sag before he answers. "I never thought that could be such a complicated question."
They finally have US soil under their feet again, and Hopper knows now is his best chance of figuring out what this thing between them could become.

He swallows, mouth suddenly very dry.“You have 10 seconds to explain. Who are you, and where are you from? Who are you with?”
Spider squeezes his eyes shut and sends a brief prayer up to anyone who might be listening. “My name is– My name’s Spider. I’m from the other side of the mountains, near the Anurai clan. I’m not with anyone, I swear.” He swallows. “I left my clan almost a year ago. I’ve been alone. I am alone.”
He cracks an eye open, trying to gauge the reaction of the other.“Spider? What the hell kind of name is Spider?” The Na’vi balks, and Spider wants to laugh.
